This is very cool, and I love bareback riding, but remember that jumping a horse bareback can really hurt their back if it's done too much. <3

Wow. I've always wanted to do that.
Can I just ask how on earth she managed to steer the horse with just its mane? Or did you edit out the bridle or something?

It was, thank you! We have started using leg signals instead of rein ones in our lessons recently - particularly for leg yielding.

you can do liberty (no equipment) riding too? t's amazing. I've been told two things of riding styles:
-bareback-no saddle is needed but a bridle is used
-liberty riding-no equipment is required for riding. it's amazing you can jump without a bridle

I would definitely buy a print of this one, if I could. Maybe someday.
What an amazing feeling of freedom this photo gives. The horse and rider look like they're one. I love how bright the colors are.

i've always, always i tell you, wanted to learn to jump
but the ranch i currently ride at, doesn't offer that. and i don't wanna switch yet. i've fallen in love with one of the lesson horses
i've ridde with no saddle before, but no bridle O_O woah dude, i would freak out
i'm glad you're brave xD

hehe, good luck with learning that. It's fun, but you need quite some balance and (most imporant) a horse that you can trust in, that when you fall down, it will stop!

Here in america it is called bareback whenever you are riding with no saddle. Not just jumping. Western is like hunter....ya....
Great Shot!

Yeah I know, I have heard that. Probably I will reedit this one, too, like I did with some other deviations.
Thanks, anyway

What a beautiful photo of a wonderful-looking horse and rider combination!
In America we do call it bareback riding, though there are a few "western" riders like Pat Parelli who jump horses without aid of a bridle or saddle.
Thanks for sharing!

I usually have something on my horse's head (halter, bridle, bailing twine...) but I don't usually use a saddle eather
