  i love how this is one of the relatively few heavy multi role fighters of the SW universe. there are a few others, but not many. the Y-wing almost qualifies, but it better suited as a bomber.

I liked how this design was one of Lucas' way to help bridge the gap between the prequels and the original trilogy.

The ARC recalled some of those 2- or 3-man crew Pacific US aircraft from about 1943 or so... Which I guess was the intention!
