Hmmm eventually, I'm going to need assistants who are good
at 3D modeling. I'm planning on modeling all the backgrounds
from scratch in a 3D software. Not sure if you heard of this manga,
but Gantz did something similar.
But that'll be a while from now haha...~

Hmm Well, it's going to depends on what series I'm working on
For instance, right now, I'm working on a horror, psychological manga. For that series, I'm going to make
the backgrounds 3D for a few reasons:
1. The series takes place in two places: School, and some other place.
2. ^ This will make the process ALOT faster.
3. Making the backgrounds 3D will make the backgrounds feel more mechanical and less organic-- which is what I'm going for
to make everything seem... darker and creepy~
But, I am doing to draw the backgrounds for the shonen manga 'After+Life' to make everything feel much more natural and stuff ^^~
And yeah, I admire Hiroya Oku's methods. He definitely has a large team for this (he said he would model 3D stuff all day with his team in an interview).
But I see what you mean~ I just want to try something new, ya' know ^^?Β
(Plus, learning a new skill like modeling really would help on a resume haha)
