Based off the famous drawing of the Joker and Harley Quinn, drawn by Alex Ross for the cover of the comic "Batman: Harley Quinn." The original can be found here: [link]

Someone on Livejournal asked for a manip of this picture, putting Heath Ledger's face over that of the Joker in the original. I took on the challenge, and was pleased with the result: [link]

And, since I had been wanting to draw the Joker (and Harley) again, I decided to draw it.

I used colored pencils and it took me probably 8-10 hours overall. To say I'm pleased would be an understatement - I don't think I've ever been this happy overall with a piece of artwork. And this was only my second time using colored pencils to do an entire drawing - but the first doesn't really count, because I used an entirely different technique.

So, I had a lot of fun with this, and I hope you enjoy it.

I do not own Harley Quinn or the Joker or the original painting, but I wish I did.
