Creepy.
Oddly, I thought of that thing as a brain sucking monster BEFORE I read the story. Which, as always, is superb and though vague, leaves so much detail and question.
Nice work on the branches, and stemming twigs coming off them. . . eeirely like fingers- just waiting. The shading is very lovely, and I like the menacing absence of sky, except in those dark corners. . . heh, corners.
The detail in the "nest" is creepy, and open for debate on just what it is, I see a lot of different things, none of them good. .. but that's what makes it so perfect. All those veiny details, and wooden grip- awesome.
