Many shelters don't have vets on staff and have to euthanize for conditions that they can't treat within the shelter. Are there no local wildlife rescues you could contact in the future?

The thing is that the Scottish SPCA have vets on staff, but it appears that the ambulance driver didn't even bother to take the crow for assessment.
There aren't any rescues within travel distance to me (I don't drive), but if this happens again I will do my damned best to take the animal to an independent shelter.
