The resort in Mialkowek built Żyrardow textile factory, founded by Philip de Girard, the inventor of the mechanical method of spinning flax. The establishments were rewarded with prizes for their products in Paris, at the best of times they employed almost 10,000. people. In their estate also had a resort under Gostynin.
