The most famous Warsaw place, haunted by ghosts, is Nowogrodzka Street. There, at number 14, a woman was murdered, which was the legend of the capital from the time of the belle epoque.

Her name was Maria Wisnowska and she was an extremely attractive actress who wraps her men around her finger. In her living room she accepted (with bare legs, which was then almost an act of pornography) of writers, singers, painters, and journalists - only men. She played over 100 roles on the stages of Warsaw Governmental Theaters, including several men. The audience adored her, especially the students who, after the show, took their favorite group home. Overwhelmed by the obsession of death, she was surrounded by revolvers, daggers, vials of arsenic. But as her friends say, it was a comedy game. Wisnowska abused morphine and alcohol, and at the end of her life, a man with a wound in his head began to appear. She got involved in a strange affair with seven-year-old Russian officer Barteniew, she accepted him separately, so as not to cause rumors. In Warsaw, still mourning the fall of the January Uprising, the affair with the Russian officer was an unforgivable betrayal. On the other hand, Barteniew knew that his father, a wealthy boyar, would never agree to marry his son to a Polish actress. On the night of June 30 to July 1, after taking a large amount of opium dropped with champagne, she was supposed to say - "If you love me, kill me" - and he shot her heartily and gave himself to the police. Her spirit on Nowogrodzka does not appear physically but is apparently always present. They say he's doing different jokes - especially in the morning. Corporality has already lost her once.
