Description
Villa Biruta has become famous in recent years due to a financial affair related to the Horcus Investment Group company. The villa was built in 1904 according to the design of Władysław Czosnowski as a branch of the Bristol Hotel in Konstancin, in 2009 the building was entered into the register of monuments, and in 2011, after the tenants were checked out, the villa was sold by the municipality to a private investor.
Horcus Investment Group SA was a financial pyramid and deceived about 700 people for the amount of 38.5 million PLN!!
HIG assured investors about the uniqueness of the villa, which is true! And that it is one of the few Konstancin's villas with original stuccowork in the rooms. Today you can find a few small fragments of stuccowork on a pallet in one of the rooms, and half a meter of ORIGINAL stuccowork on the corner of the ceiling of one of the rooms.
The condition of the villa today is catastrophic, the water penetrates the chimney ducts, through huge openings in the roof and through unprotected window openings on the door. In my opinion, the villa will only be demolished in two or three years' time.... It's a pity.
