Description
Watermill in Strugienice
Finding any information about this watermill borders on a miracle. I sat on it for a few hours and finally gave up. For the first time the object won with me. Maybe not so much the object as its history. Or rather the lack of it. There is no meaningful mention in the Internet. It is not known exactly when the mill was built or when it was open. The only thing I can conclude is that it certainly worked already in the nineteenth century. The owners were Piotr and Zofia Ś., who had a daughter Halina. She was a professor at the University of Warsaw and a linguist. In 2016, a stone with a commemorative plaque was placed in her memory right next to the settlement.
Mill settlement
The settlement includes a mill situated by the river, cottages and a barn. I didn't look into the barn, the houses look like renovated, but the mill with its equipment bought me completely. Starting from the ground floor to the top floor, there are machines and equipment needed to produce flour. I've been there several times and looking at the fact that I'm very close there I'll probably visit the mill again
But, what am I going to tell you... Look for yourselves...
