Description Name: Catharsis
Gender: Male
Breed: Arabian x Shire
Age: Four
Height: 15.3 hh
Discipline: In training…
Sire/Dam: Blackhawk ([link] ) x Rheoni ([link] )

Personality:

Headstrong and arrogant. Catharsis proves to be a difficult stallion to train, and continually challenges the handler. His feisty nature is often cause for annoyance for the other horses, though his mother still tolerates him. He can be easily persuaded if it means receiving a carrot bit or two, and he enjoys attention and grooming; however, it is unwise to place a saddle anywhere near his back.

Physical Description:

Catharsis has inherited his mother's brilliant colours, though they are visible only under direct lighting; otherwise he appears to be a regular piebald. In spite of his father's impressive height, he barely reaches 15.3hh. He does, however, have a copious amount of feathering and a more sturdy buildβ€”a slight roman nose included. Like both of his parents, he has light grey eyes.

---

I just kept thinking of a Grackle ([link] ) while I was colouring this. It ties in rather well with Rheoni's bird-themed colour scheme, though that connection was unintentional.

I'll post a reference of his other side and colour gradient in the near future.

I love looking at the contrast of the markings and all the different colors you've included in the black. And I just want to run my fingers through that mane and tail. Beautiful horse portrait.

My apologies for the delayed reply, but yes. He is up for stud. Did you have a mare for him in mind? If so, send me a note with details.

She's very pretty.

I accept your breeding request. Here's a link to my stables journal, where you'll find a list of Catharsis' passable traits: [link]

mkay, Do I make the foal and breed pic or just the breed pic? Thanks so much for the breeding!

The rules for breeding are listed in this journal: [link]

But, to answer your question, you have to draw both a breeding and a foal picture. The foal can either be drawn as a foal or as an adult.

Oh my goodness he turned out so beautifully, Urilium
The coloring job you did on him is gorgeous, he's definitely a stunner. Beautiful anatomy, I love how he still ended up being drafty. I was wondering how that would pan out x]
I can't wait to see what you can do with him, although it seems like it'll be a challenge due to him not liking saddles
Thanks so much for choosing my stallion, Rheoni and him made a beautiful pair

I'm glad you approve. ^^

Truthfully speaking, I love the drafties and couldn't pass up the opportunity to make him more coldblooded in appearance.

Thank you for allowing this pairing. It was quite fun!

I didn't think a Shire/Arabian hybrid would look pretty in reality (due to such exaggerated and conflicting characteristics) until I found this webpage: ([link] ). There are examples in the middle and at the bottom, and they're gorgeous.

Grackles... e_e

ANNOYINGEST BIRDS EVER, I SHIT YOU NOT. I volunteer at a songbird rehabilitation clinic, and most of the mischief we get is from either Blue Jays, Robins, or GRACKLES. They're pretty, but if they get bored, they wreck shit.

It sucks because they're cute and they mislead you into thinking they're innocent but NOOOO THEN THEY BITE YOU WHEN YOU'RE CLEANING CAGES

Ranting aside... >_>
Very pretty colors. It's a nice blend of his dam and sire's own colors :3

Don't I know it. xD

I like to watch the Purple Gallinules whenever I visit Florida, and sometimes I am naughty by feeding them from my hand. Eventually the local grackles realised that I was handing out freebies, and they started congregating around the house... where they waited... Next thing I know, I'm in a scene from "The Birds" whenever I step outside--those buggers are everywhere, squawking and attacking every creature that moves if it meant having competition for food.

Thanks!
