Description

Join requests are open again after a temporary close! The group has completely revamped!

Space-Garden  takes place in a city called Teklin’Enta, which travels across the universe in a giant dome of a spaceship. There are millions of citizens living in Teklin for easy access to interdimensional travel. The founder, Nedia Teklis No. 5, found a revolutionary way of hopping through dimensions to explore and even live in. Anyone can now pay a sum of money to spend their life in whatever universe they wish. Teklin is the place you call home—it pays well and you’ve got the skills to contribute to such a vast project. The spacecity’s goal is to explore all sorts of new worlds for potential customers.
Beware, though; it’s dangerous work. You will meet all sorts of alien races that may present themselves as friend or foe. Although Teklin is more advanced than any other ship in dimension-hopping, that doesn't mean it is the pinnacle of military defense. Such technology is envied among other alien races and trespassing in unknown territory can wield often deadly results…

______

This is the kind of concept I had I my head when designing the space-city. I did this on vacation so when I got back I could hurry up and get the group up again.

The ship's gravity runs on centrifugal force, so that giant dome you see is constantly spinning. Right now it is "upright" but if it were to stop this way, everything would just float around... luckily, there's an idea for a  hypothetical singularity system being tossed around, so hopefully our physicists should be able to get right on it. We'll need to install those on the Captain's deck sooner or later.

That big "plate" you see near the front of the ship is also part of the dome. The Med Bay is a spectacular place to visit there with its open floors; you can see space drifting about from there.

What are join requests?

On this site you can join "Groups" which is actually something you can watch. They usually have similar interests so if you watch them you'll get a feed specifically for whatever you're interested in like robots, aliens, etc. They also have options to "join" if you want to be a member.

In my case, I created a group for roleplaying in a sci-fi setting and anyone can join it if you want to take part in the roleplay.

no problem! your concepts are too original to be ignored; i wouldn't be surprised to see you big out there some day soon.
i must say, concept art and design is a big dream of mine also, but so far i don't really have much to show for it.

Oh, you have your WHOLE  life ahead of you, though! There's really nothing special about me. I was about 4 or 5 when I knew I wanted to make characters for movies, and I even did my own projects where I designed all sorts of little creatures and wrote stories to go along with them. After that, I got my hands on digital tools I knew it would be the key to bringing my characters to life.

Now, I do not have any idea when you started thinking about concept design, but wherever you are now is STILL early. Where will you be in 2 years? 4 years? 6 years? You don't really know, and that's a long time to hone your skills. Plus, you'll still be in your twenties! Your career us just beginning. Plus, college is a major part of where many artists get the critique they need to improve. Surrounding yourself in other professionals as art students will help you improve your skills much more quickly than getting help online from other users. What the future holds is completely unknown, so what you might think of yourself now is bound to change and your skills will go along with it.

I think that the fact that you started the whole concept of creative character design and their backgrounds at such a young age is special enough. I didn't even know that concept art was really a thing until i got into movies and gaming about a year or two ago. i've always been into the artistic BTS of movies/gaming/animation, but it only recently really started looking into it.
what you said is really inspiring- thanks a lot! I'm just glad that i found the online community (which i can partially thank you for because your animations brought me to dA at a young age) there's so many cool concepts and styles of art to get inspired by here.

Ahhhhh, it's nice to remember STEVE and how we were all like when SG first started. xD

The good news is, the world is now stable enough to develop some consistency and sense. I'm excited to build on it.
