Once we hit the highway, the boredom of travelling finally hit. I knew about how long we were supposed to be traveling, and it wasn't that appealing, as I was sitting half on the bench, with Lovino at my right and Feliciano kind of squished at the window. Not that he minded in any way. I think he was waiting until he saw a pretty girl drive past.

Elizabeta and Victoria were seated across from me. Victoria was zoning out, playing around on her MP3 player. I don't even think she was staying on a song for more than twenty seconds, as she kept clicking around. Elizabeta was smirking off in my direction, even though she was closest to the window.

"So quiet, non?" That voice was the last thing I wanted to hear. "Can someone do somet'ing?"

"Oi, Frog Bastard."

"Oui?"

"Shut up. It's too damn early to hear your voice."

"Lovino, 'ow you 'urt moi."

The next thing I heard was a thump. I looked over and Lovino had hit his head against the table. "Too damn early."

The mood was heavy once again. I turned around and looked around the front of the RV. Alfred was oddly silent, but he seemed busy driving the RV, weaving around traffic. Arthur had found the comfort of a book and was content reading it and listening to whatever in the world his music player had. Francis looked bored, and took to wandering his eyes around the cabin. Next to him, Ludwig was looking over a map, planning our trip in more detail, I believe. Mei was humming some odd tune from her seat from behind Alfred, while Kiku-san was (contemplating life and the universe? I couldn't read him to save my life).

"Hey, Ludwig?"

"Yes." His eyes didn't leave the map.

"How long until we reach our campsite?"

"Vell {Name}, we'll reach it after dark. Possibly nine."

I groaned, my head mimicking Lovino's. "That actually hurt, ow."

"Hey, {Name}, since we reached the highway, let's organize the bedroom. How are we all going to sleep?"

I looked over at Mei. "Yeah, how are we all going to sleep? I don't trust you guys in the same room as Victoria and Mei. Except, maybe Feliciano."

"I thought about that, dudette!-"

"You git, I thought about it. Loves, the RV is yours for the nights. I asked the rest to bring tents to sleep in. Feliciano and Lovino in one, Ludwig and Kiku in the other, and unfortunately, I have to share one with the git that is driving."

"And moi 'as 'is own tent."

"Yes, which will be holding all the our suitcases we will need at night, as to not disturb you ladies."

"We can rotate sleeping places."

"Victoria? Did actually hear us?" I rested my chin to look across the table at her.

"Of course. I don't turn my music up that loud. Anyway, first night, you and Mei will share the bed, while I get one bed and Elizabeta would get the other. Then we just rotate over one. Understand?"

I nodded. "That does sound like a good plan. Mei? Would you like to join me in organizing the bedroom for the ten days?"

Mei snapped out of her humming days and unbuckled her seatbelt. "Sure! If I can walk without falling over. This is worse than airplane turbulence."

No sooner had the words come out of her mouth, when Alfred decided to hit a slightly large pothole. Mei fell over and landed in Kiku-san's lap. I was only able to widen my eyes as Elizabeta lifted her camera to take pictures of the incident. Both parties were blushing brightly and I thought that if either got any redder, one would explode.

"Umm....{Name}? Help?" I took pity on my friend and grabbed her arm to pull her up. I silently pushed her out of the situation as Elizabeta was reviewing her shots. I pushed Mei into the bedroom and closed the door behind us.

"You alright Mei?" I lightly poked my still-in-shock friend.

"Wait, oh, yeah. What were we doing again?"

I laughed and grabbed the suitcase I saw sitting on the ground. It happened to be Elizabeta's. "Come on, help keep me steady." And with that, I stepped onto the bed and lifted the suitcase over my head. And put in on the overhead shelf that was over the bed. With Mei holding me, I made quick work of moving all the girl's luggage onto the overhead shelf. I took our sleeping bags and stored them underneath the bed.

"How did you know about all these hiding spots?" Mei asked after helping me store the sleeping bags.

"Alfred told me about them. Remember when he was going on and on during lunch a few weeks ago? He was telling us all about it."

"Wait, you could actually follow what he was saying? He was going hundred words a minute."

"Talent, I guess. Hey, we can hang up our day bags in the shirt closets here." I opened one of the cupboards that were on either side of the bed, and Mei put our day bags inside, one on each shelf.

"Feels more like home home now. All that needs to disappear now is the leftover luggage from the guys."

Again, the little girl next to me earned a laugh. I looked at the luggage she had pointed out. There were at least nine other suitcases sitting around the bed. (Where are they supposed to go?)

"Any ideas?"

"Nope."

"Great." As we stood in the bedroom, the RV hit another pothole on the highway. Both Mei and myself were launched into the air and landed back on the bed with a squeal.

"You bloody wanker, are you trying to kill them back there?"

"You two dudettes alright back there?"

Mei and I looked at each other lying on the bed and broke out into giggles. The door opened to show Lovino and Victoria looking over at us with worried faces. (Well, Victoria was worried, Lovino was trying not to show any emotion other than his scowl.)

"{Name}? Mei? You two okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. That was a little fun actually. You fine, Mei?"

"Yes. It was so amusing!" Mei said in between giggles.

I sat up on the couch and slid off the bed. As I helped Mei get up, I heard Victoria gasp. "I know what we can do! I remembered that I brought a deck of cards! Where are the day-bags?"

"In that cabinet. Hey, Lovino? Do you have any ideas on where to put the guy's bags?"

"Just set them to the side, I don't care." And with that, he left the door frame to sit back down. I helped Mei move all the suitcases to the side of the room so they wouldn't move around as much when Alfred turned a corner as Victoria dug through her bag to find her deck of cards. We finished at the same time, and went back to the "commons".

"Hey Feliciano, Lovino? Want to play cards?" Victoria asked.

"Veh~! What games?"

"I don't know yet. Lovino?"

"I would rather sleep."

"Then move to sit by Kiku-san. Mei needs the room." I was glad Victoria was able to keep up with Lovino's attitude. He decided against moving, so Mei sat on the edge of the bench across the table, with Victoria and Elizabeta. "Go Fish first? Or Old Maid, so we can find the Joker in the deck?"

"I thought a deck had two Jokers?" I wondered out loud as Victoria shuffled the deck.

"I lost one a while back, so now I play with one. Old Maid then?"

"Si~!"

"I agree with Old Maid."

"Same as Mei."

"Fine."

"I'll deal then." I took the deck from Victoria and split the deck between the six of us playing. Lovino was pissed at first since he had gotten the extra card from my dealing. He didn't look too made after he looked at his cards though. I watched everybody else's faces before I picked up my own cards. I had gotten the Joker. Let the games begin.

I had also gotten the pleasure of having three pairs of matches first, so I was able to go first. Round and round it went. Lovino's first turn, he had picked the old joker, as Mei dubbed it. He glared at me, but didn't say a word as he looked at the card, because he didn't want to give up the secret that he had. I just smiled innocently back and went to my turn. After that, I lost track of the joker, but after watching people's faces, I think Elizabeta had gotten it next, and then Feliciano. I was leading in pairs until Mei surprised everybody and cleared her hand first. Then Elizabeta cleared her hand, followed by Victoria. I had pulled the Joker from Feliciano's hand, clearing all his cards. Between myself and Lovino, at least nine cards were held. I had gotten two pairs and Lovino only got one. He pulled the Joker, and then the fun began.

"Damnit!" He did the old child's trick of shuffling his hands behind his back, trying to keep me from knowing where the Joker was. I pulled my next card and had gotten a match. This was all that passed between us. Getting pairs.

The last cards were left. I had the 2 and he had the other two and the Joker. I looked carefully at the two cards.

"Worried yet, bella?" He smirked.

"Not as of yet."

"{Name}'s competitive side has gotten out," Victoria added a commentary to our final showdown.

"Agreed, Victoria. What is your prediction for the winner?" Elizabeta added seriously.

"It's equal chances for the both of them. Let's ask our viewers for their predictions."

"I bet on {Name}," Arthur reported from the front.

"I'll bet on fratello!" Feliciano commented.

"{Name} doesn't have the best of luck when it comes down to the wire. Sorry, but I'll vote for Lovino," Mei said apologetically.

"I agree with Mei-chan's point," Kiku had been watching from around the corner.

Francis was silent, as he had taken his music player out and was listening to some song and not paying attention to us.

"Dudes, I'm always right as the hero, so I'll vote for Lovino."

"You have forgotten that {Name} has had luck in the past with Karten. I vote for her."

Feeling a little lucky with two of the seven votes, I carefully reached for the card, watching Lovino's expressions. I pulled my choice and looked at it. My two of spades.

"Yes! I won!"

"We still have to count our pairs to decide on our raking."

I didn't care about that point. Victory felt so sweet, since most had thought I was going to lose. We all counted our pairs, except for Lovino, because he had gotten the Old Joker, meaning he was last no matter how many pairs he had.

"The final rankings are Mei at first, then Victoria, Elizabeta, {Name}, Feliciano, and lastly, Lovino!" Victoria announced, placing the joker on the window and reshuffling the cards. "That's Mei with one win, and everyone else with zero. Next game?"

"Crazy Eights!" I voted, though I haven't played the game in a while.

"Mao. All of us had played it before," Elizabeta voted. She was the Mao Master, and I was second-in-command, seeing how often I played.

"I like Elizabeta's idea. We can do a review of our common rules first," Mei added.

"All opposed to Mao?" Only Lovino raised his hand, since the common rules included no cursing during game, including during Point of Order.

"All for?" The rest of the group raised their hands. "Next game is Mao then." Elizabeta dealt the cards as I reviewed the common rules.

"Mao must be said with one card left or when placing the winning card. When playing a queen, 'Her majesty, the queen', must be said. Aces require you to say a movie line, unless that person plays and ace and so on. Only the Mao Master can call a Point of Order. No touching or looking at cards during Point of Order. No touching until the Master has touched her cards. No cursing at all ever once the game starts."

"Do you want an extra deck of cards? We have a few here," Arthur called from the front.

"That would make it very nice!" Elizabeta answered.

Arthur unbuckled his seatbelt and went to a cupboard underneath the bench. He grabbed two decks of cards that had similar backgrounds to Victoria's deck and handed it over. "Just sort your deck out when done playing."

"Alright. Mao Master, would you do the honours?"

"{Name}, you forgot one rule."

"Oh, and if you win, you may create your own rule and must only tell the Mao Master. And I believe that is all then."

Elizabeta dealt the deck, and when everything was ready and all was quiet. She said those words. "As Mao Master, this game of Mao has now began."

The game was long. Victoria won the first round and began the next game. Each game became longer than the last. I won, then Elizabeta, then myself again, and then Feliciano. Each rule were normal ones put in place in the past. When an eight is played, the last person to touch their nose gets a penalty. During a Point of Order, English is not allowed to be spoken (Only was tough for myself and Victoria, as no-one at our table knew any French, and because I only knew some parts of Italian).

We had gone through fourteen rounds when we realized that it was already six in the evening, and Mei had fallen asleep between turns. I had been slowly nodding off as well when Elizabeta called it off for now.

"Who's in charge of dinner? It's not going to be safe to cook inside here while driving."

"We could find a restaurant. Like a buffet," I suggested, covering my mouth to prevent myself from yawning too much.

"Ludwig, can I borrow the map?" Ludwig handed to map to Elizabeta, who sat down next to me on the floor, since I needed to stretch my legs a little bit. We both looked over the map.

"I heard of a place here that is an international buffet. Really popular, and it's still on our route." I pointed to a place on the map as both Elizabeta and Ludwig looked.

"I agree to this place. Take the next right at the upcoming light." Ludwig walked up to the driver's seat and directed Alfred to the restaurant we had picked.

I stood back up and walked over to where Elizabeta had carried Mei over on the bench, so she would be able to scoot out. "Hey, Mei, time to wake up," I called softly, knowing how her attitude was when waking up from naps. "Mei-chan, we're going to go get dinner at a buffet. Come on, let's get up!"

"Why don't you just shake her awake?" asked Lovino, oblivious to the fact that most of us were getting tired.

"Because she get's embarrassed and worried when she falls asleep like this. I have to be gentle. So shut up, and let me wake her up."

Lovino scowled and went off to sit down on the couch next to Kiku-san for the last few minutes. Mentally, I was shouting at myself. (Why do I act like that in front of the guy I like? Dim witted idiot!)

"Mei, wake up now. It's dinner time!"

"Huh? Oh, did I fall asleep, I'm so sorry!"

"Mei, it's fine!" I cut her off before she went on another rant. "Here, clean up a little bit, we're heading to a restaurant for dinner."

I turned Mei's head and smoothed out her hair, which had somehow gotten a little messed up from her falling asleep. I looked and saw Feliciano had also started nodding off in the corner. When I had finished with Mei, I went over to Feliciano. It would be harder to wake him up, but not impossible.

"Feli, the pasta is burning!"

"Veh! What? Wait, not the pasta!" Feliciano woke up with a start and tried getting up out of his seat, only to hit his head on the low ceiling. "Ow~!"

"Okay, everyone is awake now." I announced and got Mei to scoot over so I would have a seat. Victoria and Elizabeta were both sitting on the floor now, stretching their legs as Ludwig was standing up and directing Alfred to the restaurant. Kiku and Lovino were sitting on the same couch as Francis now had the couch to himself.

"Alright, we made it Dudes! Time to get out, and don't forget, you pay for yourself!"

Everyone filed out of the RV, Feliciano talking with Ludwig and Kiku, Francis and Alfred bugging Arthur, and the four of us girls walking together. I turned around to see Lovino by himself. I knew that he didn't like to hang out with Ludwig, so he couldn't be with his brother.

"Lovino?" I gathered all my courage to walk away from my friends and to walk with Lovino.

"What is it?" He muttered at me, glaring at the ground. I saw that Elizabeta, Victoria, and Mei had stopped a little while ahead of us, at the door to the restaurant. All of them were watching intently, trying to listen in without being too close.

"Are you going to sit with your brother?"

"I'm not going to sit near that potato bastard! I don't like him!"

"Want to sit with us then?" Lovino paused, looking at me with a confused expression on his face. I bit the inside of my lip nervously. "You know, since it's lonely sitting by yourself. It's better sitting with a group."

"If your friends don't mind, it's fine with me." He scratched the back of his head nervously.

"It'll be fine! There's sure to be a table for five people!" I walked towards my group again. Elizabeta was smiling encouragingly when Lovino started following me.

"How many?" The waitress at the entrance asked us.

"Five, but we came with a larger group, if we can seat near them," Elizabeta did the talking for us.

"Of course, we have a place along the wall near them. Does that sound fine?"

"Yes, thank you." We followed the waitress to a section of the restaurant where the rest of our group was already getting settled.

"Will everyone be getting the buffet?" The waitress asked again.

"Of course!" Elizabeta answered for the group as she put her bag down on her seat. The waitress nodded and left us to seat ourselves. Elizabeta chose a table for our group against the same wall where everyone else was getting seated. She took one of the chairs on the opposite side of the table with Victoria as Lovino, myself, and Mei sat across from them, on the bench. "Do you four want to get food first, and I'll watch our stuff?"

"Alright, come on Mei." I take Mei's hand and lead her down to the buffet area with Victoria and Lovino following. I quickly get my favourites, {fav. main dish}, {side dish}, and some {drink}. I glance out of the corner of my eye to see Lovino getting a lot of pasta and tomatoes, nothing out of the ordinary. Mei and I reached our seats back first and let Elizabeta get her food. Conversations were normal and even included us talking with everyone who was sitting at the other tables. The rest of our group came back and we settled down for dinner.

"So Liz, how is it being away from your laptop?" Victoria struck up a new topic.

"Don't even start, Victoria. I'm going to be away from internet for ten days."

"It's not that bad," I added in between bites. "Would you rather be home with internet, or travelling?"

Elizabeta pushed some food around her plate in thought. "You know, I would rather be travelling."

"Cheers to travelling?" I asked, lifting up my glass.

"Hō· ta lah to travelling!" Mei lifted up her glass to mine.

Victoria smiled and lifted her glass as well. "Santé to travelling!"

Elizabeta finally smiled and agreed. "Egészségedre!"

We looked over at Lovino. "What?"

"Hanging out with us means you get to participate in the cheers as well. Come on Lovino!" I explained.

"Fine," He picked up his glass and lifted it to ours. "Salute to travelling."

Us four girls clinked each other's glasses one last time with a simultaneous "Cheers!" and we all drank from our glasses. Lovino followed behind a little bit, but it didn't matter to the rest of us.

"Um, Lovino, what do you think about this trip? I mean, why did you decide to come with?" Mei spoke over me in order to ask Lovino.

"My idiotic brother told me to come along. Then that tomato bastard also said I have to come along, but then he doesn't show up."

"So you didn't want to come on our roadtrip?" I asked.

"Well, um...Non lo so...I don't know why I came, alright?!" Lovino muttered and moved over a seat, to sit at his own table.

The rest of dinner passed quickly, with Elizabeta quietly speculating why Lovino blew up like he did. Once we had all paid and left the restaurant, it was already eight in the evening. We sat back in our original spots, making the atmosphere really awkward between Lovino and myself. Feliciano had also fallen asleep and was leaning up against the wall and even seemed comfortable. Mei and Victoria, because they were already sleepwalking, were able to take the couch from Kiku-san, who had taken the spot next to Elizabeta. Arthur had taken over the job of driving the RV, and Ludwig took over the role of copilot.

"'ow iz everyone tired?"

"They played several rounds of cards, Victoria had stayed up late, Mei did a lot this morning, and Feliciano didn't have his nap. They have a right to be tired, so don't say a word." Elizabeta shot the frenchman a glare that would have made him stop any other day, though he wasn't looking at her at the moment.

"Ludwig! How much longer?" I called out to the front of the RV.

"We'll be there in an hour."

"I need to move my legs around." I stood up and looked over at everyone. Alfred had actually fallen asleep on the spot next to Francis. "I'll set up the bed for Mei. She'll be too tired to do it herself in an hour."

"I'll help." Elizabeta scooted past Kiku-san and followed me into the bedroom. We took all the sleeping bags out from underneath the bed and set Mei's up on the right side of the bed. I set up mine on the left and went back to the commons.

"Mei, come on, let's go to bed." Mei was half awake, so Elizabeta carried her to the bedroom. We stood guard at the door as she changed and slipped into her sleeping bag. "Goodnight, Mei."

"Night {Name}." I closed the door and headed back to the bench. Elizabeta went over to the couch to act as a pillow for Victoria. As I sat down next to Kiku-san, I put my head down for only a moment, only to be woken up again by the RV stopping and the dinette and couch moving outward.

"Wha?"

"We have stopped, {Name}-chan."

I looked up to see that Kiku-san wasn't able to move with me falling asleep on the bench. Elizabeta was pulling apart the second couch into a bed as Victoria was already fast asleep in the one closest to me. Feliciano was also still asleep, but the other guys were gone. The dinette and couch area were already pushed outward, leaving more room in the commons.

"How long was I out?"

"Only about an hour. Arthur is checking us in, while everyone else is setting up the tents. We have water and everything hooked up as well. Can I get out now?"

"Of course, I'm really sorry. Need help waking up Feli?"

"If you would do the honour."

I got up and took the half step towards Feliciano. "Feli! There's a pretty girl here! She wants to know if you want some gelato!"

"What? A bella? Where?" Feliciano was immediately awake and looking around. When there was no sight of a pretty girl (or gelato) around, he turned to me and pouted. "That was a mean trick, bella."

"Time to go outside. Girls only from now on." I helped Kiku-san push Feliciano outside and closed the door behind him.

"Don't forget to lock it. I don't trust that frenchman."

"You've never liked him. Well, if you're sleeping out here, keep your frying pan close," I joked giving her an around the shoulder hug. "Have everything you need from inside? If so, I'll change and head to bed."

"I'm good. Head to sleep, {Name}." She returned my hug with a smile. "Tomorrow we head to the beach!"

"It's been awhile since we were at the ocean. I can't wait! Good night, Liz!"

"Jó északát, {Name}. Sleep well."

I went into the bedroom, finding the guy's luggage was gone and me sleeping bag was laid out. After quickly changing, I slid into my sleeping bag and got settled. After a few moments, I felt Mei move a little towards me and cuddle with me. I smiled, as she was my closest friend and I was used to this behavior when she slept. I closed my eyes and heard the sound of the trees rustling and the faint murmur of voices.

"You idiota! You set it up wrong!"

I smiled at the sound Lovino yelling and dreamt about what might happen tomorrow at the beach.
