oh man this took me all night to color! my hands are shaking... ;_;
i made some minor changes from my original sketch...
i hope you like it and please criticize!

taiwan, like italy, keeps on getting kicked around by china and japan.truly, i dont think she likes either of them. japan just likes taiwan xD
after the war with china during Qin dynasty~japanese victory

China: (sigh) i'll give you my two wimpy islands to you, taiwan and korea. (actually korea is a penninsula but oh well)
Japan: let me conquer you nice and peacefully!
Taiwan: waah, okay T.T (bows)
Japan: let me conquer you nice and peacefully!
Korea: GO TO HELL YOU SUSHI FREAKKKK!! (he resists the japanese violently)

in the end, korea gets his ass whooped. (excuse me for my language x_x)
unlike in taiwan, japan burns down most of the palaces and houses, basically wipes the koreans off the face of the earth while raping a lot of women and skewering babies (here comes the part where italy finds the 'porn' book in japan's library. the japanese are crazy and perverted ^o^ JK japan's awesome!!). since japan really loves taiwan, (he is in awe of her spectacular beauty *_*) he doesnt burn anything down but descides to integrate his own tradition into taiwan and colonizes there. in taiwan, there are actually chinese, japanese, and western-styled houses.
wait--in that case, china loves taiwan too. he misses her and declares her back as part of china. taiwan hates this because she wants to be independent, and as a result, attempts to shoot down a chinese representative who went to taiwan. (true story xD) since her economy and society developed much later than china under japanese influence, she doesn't really want to be a part of that cultural revolutionary communist china. that's right, two very different government systems. but the majority of taiwanese don't really care because most of them are chinese immigrants anyway and their economies are pretty interconnected.

Like you said and past time, today`s Japanese man also tend to arrogant toward Chinese and Korean.
But what I want to say here is that Japanese also discriminated, killed and raped Taiwanese since Taiwan coerced to be Japanese colony.

Add to that, they are very violent to women, so many Japanese women and girls including me are suffering their sexual harassment...that is Japanese bad point.

Anyway, it was real history that past Japanese troops perpetrated countless atrocities in Asia.
Thank you for writing the history that have to be faced by Japanese.

yeah...didn't they experiment on pregnant women and babies and stuff like that? hey if you're suffering from sexual harassment, you should go call the police or something ._.
and you're welcome. thanks for commenting

I like the colors. Maybe it was worth shaking hands!

(See what I did there?)

I also have a few questions, since I'm not familiar with Taiwan as a char (or, for that matter, Taiwanese history): /Why/ do China and Japan appear to be wooing her? Is it a canon reference? General Asian-slash? Is Japan 'winning' and does this explain China's forehead-vein? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

Aside: I think you did a /fantastic/ job with Japan, there.

wow thank you so much!! it's the first time i got such a beautiful comment ^^ i appreciate it!
haha -shakes hand-
a while back, japan fought china in a war and when japan won, china gave up taiwan, which used to be a part of china....
japan treated taiwan very nicely, unlike other countries (like korea. you can see a lot of jap haters in korea and china). however now that taiwan gained its independence from japan, china wants taiwan back (you can hear all these debates about whether taiwan is/is not a part of china). so it's kind of like a tug-of-war? i have no idea what goes on in the anime or manga. i dont think taiwan shows up? and about the vein, i didn't really mean for it to be too symbolic, but if you insist, the chinese hate the japanese. one good example of why would be the nanjing massacre where the japanese raped, tortured, and killed 300,000 people (oh and did i mention they experimented on babies and pregnant women?). sorry for my long reply, inquiring mind >.O
