Personality:
Quiet: Most of the time, he is silent. Sometimes his presence is overlooked entirely. The few times he does speak, he is quiet and uses very few words.
Calm: He usually has a mellow or even timid look about him. His emotions can be hard to read sometimes.
Envious: His flying ability is currently very inefficient compared to that of his peers. He must use strong winds or tornadoes like the ones found on the Cloudy Steps to get a lot of altitude and to stay in flight for long periods of time. He is jealous of the others who can fly better than he can.
Self-conscious: He dislikes being orange or purple. He feels those colors make him look too girly. As a result, he finds himself not wanting to be out or with others during the sunset or by fires at night. He also cannot fly very well, and as a result, does not flying in front of others if he can avoid it.
Follower: He tends to go with the majority. He collects aether simply because everyone else is doing so, not even necessarily for the cause of restoring Aetherin. He easily gives in to peer pressure in social situations, perhaps solely because it's easier than fighting things.

History & Changes: Azote has been a bit of a loner, doing his required work with his one acquaintance, Castellanus . At times it seems his biggest concern is really his self-image, despite not having much social life.

He has recently realized that the wings on his back are now large enough to function, although still not very well. He has also discovered a second smaller pair of wings beneath the ones on his back. Unbeknownst to him, the wings on his head and back are growing rapidly... The growth of his wings has made him feel a bit better about himself, yet at the same time, still causes him distress.

Also, although it is not yet very noticeable, he has changed his clothing to a new set of a somewhat paler shade. Over time, he will begin to wear clothes that are closer to white, just like how the closer the air is to you, the more colorless it is.

Additional Info:
His design is inspired by Earth's atmosphere, in order to be a more literal interpretation of "air." Air is really colorless, odorless... you can barely feel it. The sky/atmosphere gets visible color when the photons of sunlight bounce around among the molecules of air. Depending on how much air the sunlight has to get through before it reaches your eyes, the sky will appear a different color. I applied this concept to my character.

His hair, eyes, and wings change colors depending on what type of light he is in. As long as there is strong sunlight, he will be bright blue. When sunlight is scarce, he will be orange. When sunlight is absent, he will be dark blue. When sunlight is absent but another light source is present, he will be lavender. If the alternate light source is weak, he will be a darker purple. Fires, glowing, or light produced by others count as "alternate light sources."

Below the two wings on his back, he has another pair of smaller wings. The second pair is too small to be of much use yet. However, his wings are growing rapidly.

His "belt buckle" (more like a decoration just attached to his belt) and the soles of his shoes are made of the layer of cork found just beneath the bark of trees. It's soft and somewhat flexible. (Solid cork , not the kind that's made of little pieces compressed together! xD)

The word "azote" is a root of "azotos" which is an archaic term for nitrogen, and nitrogen is the most abundant gas in Earth's atmosphere.
