Served with VMT 2 Marine Corp Training Squadron 2 servicing F9FT's at El Toro, California early 60's. The F9F was a front line fighter flown by Navy and Marine pilots during the Korean conflict. The F9F was stretched out to accommodate a second seat version the F9FT. An interesting fact about the F9FT, it became the 1st F9 to receive transistorized avionics with the addition of a transistorized intercom system between the two seats. In 1966 VMT2 left Ca. for Yuma Az. and was assigned new trainers, the A4 Skyhawk, sending the well used F9FT to the bone yard.
