I swear, I do take notes in class; I just learn better if I'm multi-tasking.
And hence these guys appear randomly on the page. Ballpoint pen and Carmine drafting pencil, with a bit of colour splashed on in PSP.Meiju: 100% satisfied with her design, I really feel that she'd fit right into the Avatar world. A 15-year-old non-bending Air Nomad from the Great Wastes. Her high-spirited attitude and love of pranks keeps the group from becoming too serious, and her ability to attract pets is every bit as advanced as that of her distant ancestor.
Zhazo: Ehh...maybe 46% satisfied with his design. He looks waaay too emo here. Anyways, the 33-year-old self-appointed guardian of Avatar Roa, an old family friend and an important figure in the resistance against the dictator Hiutai. His golden eyes indicate a long, convoluted history, but he is notoriously close-mouthed. Fire Nation, non bender.
Hein: 83% satisfied with his design; he's a bit girly looking here, and he reminds me too much of Jet. An 18-year-old from the Resistance who joins Roa's group to teach her the basics of earthbending. Sarcastic and quick-witted, he keeps the group on their toes with his biting but truthful comments.
Roa: 98% satisfied with her design; I like it but it needs more 'Avatarness' to it. A 17-year-old originally from the fire nation, she is the current incarnation of the Avatar. By this time she has lost much of her initial naivety to the hostile barbs and snubs of the Anti-Fire nation sentiment that seems to run rampant these days...

Hey nice bust sketches! I really like the style you did them in. I really like drawing of the man on the right, by himself.
The minimal coloring on some of the parts works real well as it bleeds and fades away in the paper.

This sounds so interesting, and I'm really intrigued by the dictator bit. How far ahead of Aang-time is this? Meiju is sooo cute and Avatarish, it's insane. XD Do you plan to write/draw this whole story? :3

Well, she's the first Fire nation avatar since Aang, and I think the avatar cycle goes air-water-earth-fire (correct me if I'm wrong, please!), so three generations have passed...assuming that Aang and the others lived a decently long life span, maybe 200 to 230 years?
came up with Dictator Hiutai when he was writing the history of Avatar Ennki's time (Roa is the 'past guide' of Ennki), and I've been expanding on the idea; he's an earth nation man who preys on old prejudices and new fears. Right now I'm working on a 'Concise guide to the history of the Avatar OC Crew' for the club...but I'm unsure about what I've written so far, so it might be a while before I submit it. If you're interested I could note you the draft, I'm in desperate need of feedback...

well, I like the pictures. Your doodles almost look better than the real pix. (nah joke *g*)
in fact Zhazo is my favourite, he looks just good. You might make the golden eyes more prominent, it'd look better.
Hein looks boyish enough, but I wouldn't cover his face with that much hair. It looks a bit odd. (only my humble opinion, of course)
What do you mean with avatarness with Roa? *confused look* She does look a bit girlish, I'd make her look a tad more mature, but other than that, I like her the way she is.

-Ehh, I think it's that little 'hurt' pout of Zhazo's that irritates me. It looks really cute, but Zhazo's not suppose to do 'hurt,' or 'cute' for that matter...not when anyone's watching, anyway. The bottom line is, he just comes across to me as too vulnerable here...makes for a good picture, though.
-I think that you're right about Hein's hair; it was the first time I'd ever tried to draw him, and I honestly had (and still don't have) no idea what I want his hairstyle to be. At the moment, if I remove the bangs in the front his hair will look exactly like another OC of mine (Kazazi) so I think I'd better try an entirely new one. Any suggestions?
-By "avatarness" I actually meant whether she looks like she belongs in the series or not. Her style is her own at the moment, and I just have to tweak it to fit the series.
