Yeah, I think that Kouichi and Ruki should have been in there. I wouldn't call Takeru a lone wolf. Lone wolves are more of those people that prefer to be alone and away from the group. Takeru really doesn't fit that category. He was very much involved with the team. I think he and Daisuke nearly got into a fight once, and that was it. The dynamics between leader and more level headed second in command really wasn't there like it was for Taichi and Yamato or Masaru and Touma.
Jenrya I can sort of see them putting in there because he was reluctant to fight as a team at first in fear of losing Terriermon. Ryo is a bit of an odd one as well. That's why I think Ruki would have been a better fit. Something tells me that they wanted all boys because of sexism. *rolls eyes.*
Kouichi was nervous to be with the team after he was controlled by the evil and darkness. Kouji didn't want anything to do with the other Chosen Children. Those fit perfectly.
For Digimon Savers, I can see it being like it was for Frontier. Touma felt Masaru was always dragging him down and interfering with his plans, thus making him drift away for a bit. Ikuto wanted to be alone after being betrayed be Digimon, and in his eyes, humans as well after frigimon was killed when he was smaller.

Actually, the cover (original and remix edition) does not intend to show the Digimon lonewolves. Instead, it shows the bishounens (pretty boys) of Digimon series. That is why the non-lonewolves casts (Jenrya, Ryou, Kouichi, Ikuto) are included here.
I know that it breaks the proper characterization of the lonewolves, but you have to know that unlike Western countries, Japan still adopts patriarchal point of view. When it comes to the second-in-commands from shounen series, there are always males.

Yeah, that is true. Would be nice if they were nicer to the girls though...
