1) Baby Crystal sleeps while her mother watches over and their Lead Stallion (Bach70) grazes about. Before Crystal was born, Indira attempted to escape the bachelor that took her from Varg numerous times, but was caught in every attempt. For while the bachelor is decent in treating his mares, and even kind, when it comes to keep them, he grows extremely possessive and will even follow them for weeks to reclaim them if they try to run away... Indira finds this out the hard way, and when she finally is ready to have Crystal, she finally decides to stop in her attempts to escape him. She calms down and follows him about for her daughter's safety... Even though this has a mental tow on Indira, as all she wants to do is go back to Varg and her herd.. She clings onto the hope Varg will eventually come and reclaim her.. She has no idea her herd is captured by humans.
A small note that Bach70 actually cleared off the large patch so that Indira could graze and little Crystal could sleep on an area that wasn't covered in cold, wet snow.

2) Yearling Crystal is enjoying the fruits of spring/summer. She is racing about and enjoying it all, for while the lead stallion isn't her father, she adores him and sees him as a big brother. Indira and Bach70 actually make sure that Crystal has a kind foalhood, and enjoys her youth. She really has no idea how far into depression her mother has slipped as time as went on and there is no sign of Varg nor the herd.. At this time in the storyline, Seraph and Elaine are two years old, and this is the spring before Cleo dies next winter.

3) Winter again! And look at Crystal, a now fully developed young mare that definitely has her mother's beauty. She is on her own in this picture, as she left in the dead of night (her mother encouraged her to before their lead could take official claim to her so that young Crystal could have a better chance at life and get a chance to live outside their herd) and is just enjoying the particularly warm summer's day.

So that is that! I don't view Bach70 as a monster, but he is definitely possessive over the mares he does take claim too. Someone will need to royally knock him off his pedestal to take his mares from him, and don't worry, that will come. Crystal has a relatively good foalhood though, completely oblivious to the life she was cheated out of because of her mother being stolen from her father's herd. But seeing how things have played out for the herd of Varg, maybe it wasn't all for the worst..? Considering if they hadn't been taken by Bach70, Crystal would of been born in captive with Pax and had to watch Cleo die, and loose her father as well to humans.. But then again she would of grown up with her half brother, Pax, and half sisters, Russia and China... And her poor mother wouldn't be in such a depression slump... But don't worry to much, Varg may not reclaim Indira, but his successor will, and Indira will find happiness again.
