So here is part one of my entry to 's contest

The Couple is Freddy/Nancy (2010) and the song is Labrynth by Oomph! ( [link] )

So... finally saw the new Elm Street and there are alot of things I actually like about Jackie's Freddy... most of which include -- being closer to humanity, a bit more sexual (it gives an extra layer of creepy to me), and the more personal connections with his victims...
Everytime I hear this song I keep picturing an awesome-tastic music video in my head and drawing stills is the closest I can really get to reality. Anyways-- chose the song for this pairing because I think it can parallel things like the dream wrold vs. the real world and pre-school vs. high school

So... I said there was a music video in my head and this was one of the segments --

Well, the original idea was just a rapist/murderer until I saw NoES2010 and this segment would have gone to 'knock kncok/ let me in/ let me be your secret sin'
Movements (go in time to the lyrics) ' knee, knee, lower down, whisper, whisper, kiss her face' ... which happened to work out REALLY well with the ending.

Obviously the "left, right straight ahead/ there's no way out your dead" -- To me that is what makes this franchise scary/ different. Because you can't really run from the guy, no matter where you go you are still going to have to fall asleep sometime...

I don't know, to me the whole "knock, knock let me in/ let me be your secret sin" is obvious ... That is why he's straddling her, he wants to 'come in' but he has the common courtesy to knock first...
That is why I made the background the way it is -- A nice bedroom fading into the 'magic cave' -- Because, I don't know if Freddy was in Hell or chillin' with the dream deamons in some sort of pergatory, but he had to be somewhere in that time between his death and the time these kids grew up. And in that space he had time to idealize things like his little Nancy (Think Gatsby and Daisy almost...) and so when it came to it he doesn't want to look like the 'monster' he is and he is going to do this thing in a proper bedroom with the girl he loves... basically more within what society considers proper... but no matter where it is or what he looks like, when you get donw to it, it's down and dirty-- just lie how it used to be.

I also chose to make it nice Mr. Freddy because of the lines 'No one here can tell you who is good or bad so don't make a mistake' -- again, this is obvious in my mind... because Freddy was like the nicest guy and... look what he did. (that and I just have a thing for two-faced characters like that -- [link] )

Moving on to the second stanza (?) -- this definatley makes me think of Freddy and Nancy becuase of the phrases like 'the me inside your second skin has spoiled your thinking once again' -- The dude kind of f--ed her up once already and now he's back and messing her up even more... Also phrases like 'personal plaything' and 'this game is endless' help draw that parallel from pre-school to high school. Mr. Fred probably used some kid- related terms to lure them in... actually I like to think that he is rather child-like that's why he connected with kids so well and why he says things like 'what game do you want to play next' and 'tag- you're it' ( I really wish they put a line like 'Nobody likes a tattle-tale' in there ... )

Anyways, sorry my ranting doesn't make any sense...
