yes...it seems to be a nice place to see....not the ocean of modern building in the background, but the ancient market in the front...
is it an HDR..?

Actually i do like the buildings too...they are quite old...and it's probably the only place in the city where all the buildings are not gray. I like the fact that there is some color. Yes it is an hdr...made from 3 shots -2,0,+2

we lost a lot of old town over the last decades in my hometown...a lot of modern things were build...stylish, but without soul....so I prefer older house with a history....
I've done some HDR last year...but to me, it seems more like a painting...lately I use ACDSEE pro3, where you can handle different light scenes...for example...

i understand what you are saying...i wouldn't like that either...this place you see in the photo is actually in the heart of the city center...and these buildings aren't considered modern at all. With HDR it depends...almost all my photos here are HDR...and i don't think they look like paintings...it's very easy to go overboard with HDR and create unrealistic images...i use photomatix most of the time...and i don't like any of the presets it has, they all make photos looks totally fake...so i made my own settings...it's all about experimenting.
