I'm less bothered about the Hau (it is glorious non the less) but interested in the shapeways bricks. They look pretty good here, I've only seen 3D generated pictures before. Does it have really visible printed layers?

About 3D printed in general, visible printing layers depends of the quality of the model, finition of the print, orientation, material and smoothing.
About Shapeways print, it really depends of the material you ask for and print orientation. Some material like default regular white nylon can show printing lines, some others like smooth fine detail plastic don't have any. Here, it's about gold coating a piece, so it's about jewellery. I guess from this point of view it's better to not the printing lines being shown ^^

I have two questions,1.how much did you pay for this? 2.why does it look more sleek like the 2010 hau than the 2001 one.

2 : I'm not sure of what you're asking. 2001 and 2010 Hau are technically the same mask with lenght and axle differences. Sleekness is not really the point with a custom, precious metal made item ?

The Stars Hau is smaller and thinner to better fit the head it was worn on there not the same piece.
This is clearly the 2001 Hau as its meant for the OG 2001 Tahu Mata.

Im refering to the overall shape of the mask,the 2001 hau is bulkier while the 2010 one is more streamlined and sleeker to fit a longer type of head.

Some people before you pointed this concern but getting the item in your hand and you'll get no doubt anymore. It legitimally won't be 100% accurate to the original Kanohi Hau but it's accurate to the 2001 version, not the 2010. Mensurations seems clear.
