i only would use as reference for drawing a horse in this position. Not cutting out the photo, using in photo minaps, or anything of that sort and you would be credited fully for the reference photo.

Sort of. We just brought him in off the range after several years, and he had forgotten, or refused to remember, how to lay down. Which we taught him a long time ago. So we had to re-teach him, and he threw a complete fit. Made for great pictures though!

This is his first day of trick training. We were teaching him to lay down, and his studly pride got in the way a little. Now he's great at it though.

it depends on what 'hurt' means. Sometimes a slap on the shoulder to get an animals attention can be viewed outwardly as 'hurting him' when really it's the equivalent of a herd member butting their head against them or shoving them away when they're fed up with him.

well, a slap on the shoulder is one thing,i don't view that as hurting,i mean something like prodding them with a stick or causing trauma or significant wounds. I slap on the neck or rump is just a way to get them to listen up.I didn't mean to start an argument over it. I just wasn't sure what you meant when you said it was sometimes necessary to inflict pain on them. I think you meant like a slap on the neck or something, right?

not me, I just saw the pic and read the comments and decided to say something. I'm sure all they meant was a slap on the shoulder. they were trying to train him not abuse him. hurting him would have made things incredibly difficult, not that,they weren't already by the looks of the photos
