Description With the awakened interest in a sequel to the 1987 comedy "Spaceballs", I was asked by my good friend and creator of "The Goldbergs" Adam F. Goldberg to design a fictional poster titled, "Spaceballs II: The Schwartz Awakens."

Hot on the heels of his anti President Skroob campaign, Adam wanted a poster that would not only get attention but also attract the interest of comedy legend Mel Brooks.

My design steps away from other great fan art out there which mainly centers on Dark Helmet or other references from the film. I arrived on the concept of Lonestarr and the gang returning to Druidia in the famous Eagle 5 with the "Spaceballs II" lettering based on the film's opening title, rather than the other variations that have come out over the years. We don't know what the mission is, but it's a good bet it has to do with The Schwartz being awakened and in that sense, also interest in reviving a cult classic very dear to our hearts.

The title is designed to return to the roots of Spaceballs while also poking fun at Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I want to clarify two things. First, this is a fan art poster commissioned by mastermind and super geek Adam F. Goldberg.

It is not official nor was it ever stated to be. I am very proud to see my fan art design being appreciated and shared. Secondly as a geek myself (I wrote a book on the television show Knight Rider) I am very aware that the title should read, "The Search for More Money." Believe me, I do extensive research on all my design projects. I was specifically asked by Adam to instead incorporate the famous title into the tagline of the poster in favor of a nod to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

It is Adam's hope that this fan poster might actually lead to a revival of a true and official sequel helmed by Master Yogurt himself, Mel Brooks. If the Force is with us, we will see Spaceballs return with an even bigger helmet.

Heh! Instead of Mega-Maid, in Space Balls II, its Super Mega Maid. It's like one of those wall vacuum systems in a building that can suck multiple rooms at one time!
