ETYMOLOGY: “Aya” アヤ is a Japanese name that means "design", "art" or "beautiful", Aya is also an Arabic female name written as آية meaning "sign", "miracle", or "verse."
A'ya is also in use in the Hebrew language and means "to fly swiftly." or "Bird". Aya in this case is derived from the Japanese name “Ayane” 彩音 which literally means “colourful” or “beautiful sound”.

Aya is myself as a “Lynxenmimi” - a lynx and vixen hybrid made into a kemonomimi - which means she is linked to Wish. However, she is not Wish nor does she possess the same strength or abilities that Wish has but rather she has a form of weaker, specialized Stardust granted to her by the Goddess.

That being said, she is not a Celestial or Mutant, she is what is known amongst Celestials as a “Blessed”.

A Blessed is a Celestial born without Celestial magical abilities and are similar in nature to a Squib from Harry Potter which are witches or wizards born without magical abilities. As such, Blesseds are often frowned upon by Pureblood Celestials due to being one being seen as a disability or failure. This is where the root of the title "Blessed" came from; in these arrogant Celestials' eyes these entities are "blessed" to be allowed to still rightfully claim that they, themselves are Celestials. However, thankfully due to Wish's intervention on these rare oddities the title has since recently become a more positive one with the unveiling of the first successful Blessed; Aya.

Aya was the first of the few to be "Blessed" by Wish with her Stardust. She was bestowed with magical and destructive abilities which allow her to be somewhat more Celestial and sustain her body and Core's condition more accordingly. However, Aya's Core could only take a small amount of Stardust due to the amount of mortality that she had in comparison to a common Celestial. Aya is considered 60% more mortal than Celestial, making her more akin to a Mutant.

Aya does not possess a normal Celestial's Core. Her Core resembles a human heart in shape but is coated in a thin layer of crystallized Stardust. It beats like a normal heart but at a constant slightly faster pace [120BPM resting whereas the average human BPM is 60-100, 120 is considered unhealthy for a human] to circulate the thick amount of dust through her body at a continual pace to keep her magical ability functioning correctly. It is positioned in the same location of a normal human heart but is not linked to any arteries or veins and floats in its' place like a normal Core.
