During the election I felt like I was in a prison shower with a 7 foot giant looking at me saying "kneel down or bend over! your choice." how 'bout you?

I felt more and more like a Serf looking to his king. As "Hope and Change" Looked more and more like bondage and Chains.

Fear not, for it is always darkest before the light. 2010 is just around the corner and I see another 1994... even better than 1994... I see a possible sweep in every close race there is.

Are there no other options for you?

* Constitution Party
* Green Party
* Libertarian Party
* Prohibition Party
* Reform Party
* Party for Socialism and Liberation
* Socialist Party USA
* Socialist Workers Party
* Independents

all of those are worse than McCain?

You said you want to vote, right?
you don't have to vote for someone that you think has a high chance of winning.
I myself would not like to pick between the better of two evils.

Ron Paul wrote Op-Eds in a Neo-Nazi Magazine in the early 90s... He is also a nut job who has hijacked the libertarian name... He is a Isolationist fool... nothing more but a end of a really bad joke... He is about as good as a 2 Dollar whore at a Porn star convention

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nolo84 In reply to Valkyrie1981 [2008-06-15 04:08:29 +0000 UTC]

You're nice.
He didn't write those letters, it's highly suspected Lew Rockwell did. If you've read any of Paul's work, you realize the literary style is completely different (foaming-at-the-mouth, as opposed to practical and pragmatic).
I heard that rumor and had to check it out myself. Total hoax if one even glances at it.
He is not isolationist. He's noninterventionist, which is not something I support, but it is something I respect.
As for hijacking the libertarian name... well, Ron Paul didn't have to do it, Bob Barr is quite the sufficient authoritarian asshat to do it for him (if you didn't know, Barr is an upper-right wing, conservo-authoritarian nitwit that is the Libertarian Party nominee for President. Good times...).
As for McCain and Obama... well you already know how bad they are...
Maybe McCain will set fire to the White House with his new EH-101 Presidential helicopter...
*barfs a little in his mouth*

I'm kinda a "spread democracy" kind of guy, but I realize that nobody in politics either wants to or has any idea how to actually do that.
And it's not really a defining issue for me, either.
So Dr. Paul gets my vote.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

shsn In reply to Nolo84 [2008-06-15 08:46:06 +0000 UTC]

I would be for spread democracy if U.S. actually did that. They say they do, but really do they? Many of their allies are not democracy but U.S. just turns a blind Eye to it. Saudi Arabia = no democracy, Saudi Arabia = ally of U.S. (for now anyway.. who know how the world changes) same with Egypt and other countries... then there is the fact that The CIA overthrew democracy in Iran like 30 years ago and placed a dictator there. That was until their revolution, but U.S. still overthrew a democracy

Nolo84 In reply to shsn [2008-06-15 09:50:11 +0000 UTC]

....You obviously subscribe to the polarization view of the world. Good versus evil. blah blah the fact you make the assertion that Obama is in bed with terrorists is ridiculous...it's as pathetic as when Fox news insisted on including BHO and HRC as the initials of the two democratic candidates on their coverage. JSM would have been just as important since noone can figure out the candidates without their middle names. (John Sidney Mccain) APPEASEMENT, dear god..do you know how bad that argument is flawed?? Chamberlain gave Hitler a huge swath of territory! do you think obama will let Iran take all of Iraq's territory or something? This argument that you can't talk to those you disagree with is childish at best. Sooo many problems get solved with the silent treatment..o wait, that has really worked in Cuba..We are not fools..How is it that in 1994 Dick Cheney referred to occupying Iraq as a mistake b/c it would be a QUAGMIRE! The lessons of Vietnam have not been learned apparently..our president chicken hawk with his draft deferments should've spent a little more time in history class. The argument that 100 years in Iraq could be just like Japan/Germany/Korea..is fundementally flawed, those countries are not involved in bloody civil wars. There are other choices in this election maybe you should vote libertarian...

War for 4 More...

Too bad you're well read on the issue? There are very intelligent well read people who do "dumb' things. For example, I would never claim that Cheney is a moron..he knows exactly what he's doing. The irony of your comment is that you said "I" am full of one liners. The fact is you submitted a bumper sticker style piece with the slogan "Hamas for Obama"...that is a catchy "slogan", politics of fear at its best.

If a Pumper Sticker could express a political view point other than one liners I must have missed that in Commercial Arts. As well, how is it fear Mongering when Hamas did state they support Obama, which makes that a statement of fact, not a political opinion.

McCain will be a very poor president, yet not as dangerous or threatening as Obama, a man who supports Socialistic ideals like Government run Healthcare (The same people who brought you FEMA running your Insurance…. I don’t think so) A man who states he would attack Pakistan… a man who says there are 57 states… A man who wants to run away from Iraq and let millions die… Lets not forget his Anti-Semitic Anti-American Racist pastor, his good friend Terrorist buddy Williams Ayers… Our choices are limited, I am picking one that will do the least amount of damage, and has a guaranteed shelf life of 1 term

Ryoga12311 In reply to Valkyrie1981 [2008-05-23 01:37:17 +0000 UTC]

so having similar key points is the same as sharing a 100% political view with an extreme position? I dont think so.

McCain could be said by some to be a facist in this same case, via being willing to use military force as a first option.

Or Bush could be labled as a Dictator because that's what they have installed in the closest international freindship to the Bush family: Saudi Arabia.

Valkyrie1981 In reply to Ryoga12311 [2008-05-23 05:32:58 +0000 UTC]

Saying you are friends with Bill Ayers, and going to a church for 20 YEARS to a Racist pastor is more then having similar key points.

Bill Ayers got away with Murder, and he should be no ones friend. All of the Weather Underground Group are Terrorist, saying you are friends with one of them is no different then saying you are friends with Bin laden. Obama has choices in where he goes to church, which committee he sits on, who he says is his friend.... When every day we find more people in his camp that support Palestinian Terror against Israel... He wants to sit down and talk with Iran... This is becoming more and more like 1935, and the appeasement talks with Nazi Germany. He says Iran isn't as dangerous as the Nazis, well why are we waiting? Do we need WWIII to come along before anyone realizes that there is no negotiation with terrorist, or the states that support them.

Obama is a Fool, and you are a fool for following him... I will Vote for McCain, because I refuse to not vote, it is my civic duty and I will do it no matter what. I refuse to let the Democrats snatch Defeat out of the hands of Victory.... Your Speak of the House just came back from Iraq and had nothing but great things to say about the security, and the how Iraq is coming together passing new laws and moving forward.... Yet you want to put a man in who will leave as soon as 16 months.... Then talk to the nation who will move in and take that country over.....

I am sorry, but where is the logic in voting for a man like Odama?

You're going off of connection the man had made 20 some years ago, and not looking into his POLITICAL activities.

He was the co-founder of the recent nuclear proliferation treaty.

He's openly spoke out in favor of the Embargo on Cuba (his Commie 'buddies'

while in a local government position, he pushed and got recordings of police interrogations to remove doubt of police butality in gaining confessions.

i think his works speak louder then your words.

dont you know, that's the #1 selling point of the republican party.

"If you don't vote for me.... just think what might happen..."

Never mentions that, under their presidency ,there is the same probablity for something bad happening.

One man said that and has now apologized for saying it..... Its not like he went to a church that preached the destruction of Israel and that the CIA made AIDS for 20 years.

You drop stupid lines like that as a little shocker, to bad I am well read on the issue.... I am in no way a fan of McCain.... he is not who I would want to be president, but it is better then the other.... like the post states... lack of options. Instead of acting like the drive by media with you little one liners.... try looking deeper into the issue, and don't act like a fool.

That's pretty much what happened during the Mexican presidential elections in 2000. Fox received the majority of votes mostly because he was the only one with any possibilities of ending the 70+ year reigh on the P.R.I. (Revolutionary Institutional Party).
The results of his period were far below our expectations of course, but most of the fault belongs to the Mexican people for, as usual, expecting the government to do everything for them.
