Finde den Effekt gar nicht so schlecht gelungen. Viielleicht von der Perpektive/NΓ€he nur ein ticken weniger unscharf, und dann wΓ€rs sogar perfekt gewesen,
Der FlΓΌgel sieht allerdings arg kurz aus, ist das so gewollt? Erinnert mich gerade an die RΓΌckenpanzerung vom Dimetrodon.

Bei mir darf man nicht in altbekannten Mustern denken, weiΓt du doch. Klar ist das so gewollt... ^^ Der Drache kann auch nicht fliegen, sondern nur gleiten.

Looks like a bit of time with the line-art and shading, +You say your new to the blur effects, i think it looks pretty good (especially for just starting experimenting with that style), adds depth
And them amber eyes and the overall detail are just... Β

Thanks. I originally uploaded a version with a lot more blur. Tried a kind of bloom lighting. Didn't look good. So I replaced it with this one, having only depth blur. xD

I see the blur effect on the other dragons wing 
I wonder if having some trees, rocks, maybe a simple background picture, or some simple objects with different blur effects on close vs distant objects (for experimenting) to add depth of field/ focus, more lighting effect's, and maybe things as distractions, (Like when a person first looks at a picture, whats the first thing that catches there eye or attention? (Might be able to prioritize certen objects n stuff) 
I might be overthinking things a bit, and I don't know much about digital art and shading based off light source/ shadier's/ bloom. and how complex things are to draw and blend with other objects. Not sure if I'm much help for ideas or art tips or advice. buuut this is the best i can think of atm. x_x

I didn't want to add a background to this one. Backgrounds take just so much time, and this is just some random nice looking sketch I wanted to finish. All about the dragon, less about their surroundings or scenery... Especially because I am currently practicing this shading style, as I think it is a style that suits me best. So this was a perfect chance to just try and give a creature some depth. ^^
