First off, this is visually stunning. Bright colors, a unique and appealing style, and no picture can go wrong with a smile.

The first thing I was drawn to was the hair. It is the least muted color, and has a great deal of line-work which accents well. The slight wavy pattern, along with the short bang style is nice. I for maybe a second or two had an issue with how it pulls back from her left shoulder, but after studying the perspective and how it falls from the other side of her head actually changed my mind. It is well depicted, and shows an attention to the detail of how it falls and a bit of the waviness to offer a well drawn angle on how it fell.

Her face was visually appealing. The eyes have the negative-space glares which are well placed and draw out the greyish purple colors of the iris. The blush just below is slight, not overpowering, and takes nothing away from the smooth appearance and mirthful expression.

The mouth is the most drawing feature here, what with the nose being a minor bump. This is an obvious show of "less is more", glare affects and brushes on the lipstick were well done, and the minor line of the teeth gave a good smile without placing too much detail.

The ears, obviously not human, are well placed and offer a bit of fun and off-the-wall styling to the piece. The background is also both colorful, but doesn't take any attention from the best points of this colorful and beautiful work.

Cons: (disclaimer, these are meant as constructive points ONLY, and by no means are meant to demean or overly criticize in any way).

The first note I wanted to make was on the right cheek. Keeping perspective up and down there seems to be no issue, but when I turned my head to match her angle, the right cheek seemed to poke out just a bit more than it should. It's got just enough of a pointed rounding that it drew my attention.

Looking at the neck and turn of her head, the shoulder and arm seem to extend out a bit too far from where "center-line" or spinal base should be. Since her center chest seems to almost point right at the "camera" than the other shoulder should be visible on the other side of the hair. If she were turned away slightly, then the angle is off for the chest and the shoulder, as stated, is too long.

Vision: Colorful, fun, and eye-candy all rolled into one. This is a treat for both a glacing view and a deeper inspection alike. The character is well drawn, the expression is contagious. Overall, if the original design was to be cute and colorful, then mission accomplished.

Originality: This was a tough call. A smiling girl with animal ears isn't exactly an idea that stands alone. Though, this work does stand tall on its own merits. The crisp design and emotional charge it gives definitely sets it apart as well-done and original in it's own manner.

Technique: Aside from one or two minor odd angles in perspective, this is clean and polished to a beautiful shine. The lines are thick, which is definitely a plus when the smooth and simple look all lends credit to the piece as a whole.

Impact: This was visually pleasing and I definitely love the hair. As I said, the smile was contagious and I most certainly think that this was a job well done. No contest on the positive impact this carried for me.

Final thoughts: I might be a little biased with my love of purple, but overall this is just well done. Good show.
