Silje seems really mature for her age here, but i've had one question since the little blonde foal came in (Dag..?).......is there a reason he has no mane or tail?

In this universe length of the hair tells how old the horse is, newborns don't have tail at all. Silly I know, but I needed to think of something to make the age obvious
