Description
On Sunday night I finished crocheting the largest project I've ever made. I crocheted a blanket for my husband in the colors of the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm ashamed to say this blanket took me considerably longer than I had thought it would take. I started this blanket in 2014 when we lived in our old home and both our dogs, Jeremiah & Piper, were still with us. Over the years there were times (such as when the dogs each passed) when I lost all interest in all of my hobbies so I took breaks from crocheting. I promised my husband I would finish it and he patiently waited all these years. I'm glad I was able to finish it while it's still football season and before Christmas.
The blanket is approximately 5 1/3 feet (64 in.) wide & 8 feet (97 in.) long. It is one of the heaviest blankets I've ever felt. My son said I basically made a curtain. Hubby loves his blanket & I'm so very happy he does. (Just to give you an idea of the true size of this blanket, in the picture Hubby is behind the blanket. His hands are literally touching the ceiling of our apartment.)
I used double crochet stitches for the green & gray stripes and single crochet stitches for the joining black stripes. There are slightly over 41,000 stitches in this blanket. I use Red Heart Super Saver yarn. (I think it was Hunter Green & Heather Gray but I've misplaced the lables over the years.)
