She takes pride in her ability to entertain with her dancing and by other means and is very good at it. She doesn't let the nature of her job get her down, or if she does then she's very good at hiding it.

She acts as somewhat of a big sister to the other girls working at the saloon and has a soft spot for the younger ones who remind her of herself when she first came to Gwangi.

History:
She was raised in a wealthy household in Boston with 4 younger sisters.
Jessie ran away from home at age 17 with a farmboy called William with which she planned to elope. Her parents never spoke to her again after that and somehow Jessie ended up in Gwangi as a courtesan before her 18th birthday.
She never speaks of what happened to the boy and will cheerfully change the subject to a happier one if asked.
Copernicus has been with her since she was 10, a gift from a wealthy uncle who raised rare raptors in exoic colours.
