Description
This is my first custom master grade Gunpla I've built. I actually built this model for a Hobbytown USA contest locally and it took first place in the figure category, this was also my first time entering a model in a contest at all. The entire idea for this kit actually came while watching an episode of an SD Gundam series where they had a Sazabi but the armor was white instead of red and I thought it looked very angelic and noble. I then created my color scheme of a gold frame and two different colors of pearl for the armor along with some black thrown in for some contrast. After I assembled the kit I really didn't see how my kit was any different from any other white painted Sazabi and so the idea for hand drawn scroll work in gold came to mind. I did not paint that on I actually found a Sharpie brand oil based extra fine paint marker and drew it on. I know a lot of the symmetry is off but I was free handing it and trying to flip the design in my head was a bit rough. The paints I used for this kit are as follows, Alclad 2 Pale Gold, Alclad 2 Chrome, Alclad 2 Gloss Black Base, Alclad 2 Dark Aluminum, Mr. Hobby Pearl White, Mr. Hobby Blue Pearl, and Mr. Hobby Cool White(base coat for the pearls). This kit I'm really proud of and hope to hear some constructive criticism from fellow modelers as well as anyone wishing to help me get better at my craft.
