“I thought I might find you hiding out in here again. You're here so much, you might as well just move in.” With a loud sigh, you entered your sitting room, placed your hands firmly on your hips and stood between Romano, and the large, flats screen TV. “You know something Romano, I'm really bored right now. We should go somewhere and do something fun. We haven't gone out or done anything exciting for a while now.”

Though he was perfectly content to just endlessly flip through the channels of your TV, Romano knew that once you'd decided you wanted to do something, there was no talking you out of it. Turning his attention from yet another commercial, he looked up at you with a rather unenthusiastic expression. “I -a guess we can go out, if you want to. Where do you want to go?”

“I don't know, that's the problem. I racked my brain for ideas, but I kept coming up blank.” You dropped face first into the soft cushions of your couch and groaned. “I'm so bored, I can't even think well enough to come up with an idea so that I'm not bored any more.”

“Don't be so over dramatic, shesh.” He placed his hand on your head and gently ruffled up your hair. “It's-a not that big a deal. Why don't we just go outside and see what happens?”

“We can do that.” Glad he had at least some sort of idea, you spring up from the couch and began tugging him onto his feet. “Hurry it up.”

Romano reluctantly turned off the television, placed the remote back down on the table and stood up. You were pulling at him so forcefully, he almost toppled over on top of you. “Why do I need to hurry so much-a? It's not-a like we actually have anything to do.” He brushed himself off and slipped on his shoes. “Since we really don't-a have anywhere to go, we can take our time getting there. It's-a much better that way.” With his usual bored, sarcastic expression plastered to his face, he walked outside and started down the street. You only lived a few blocks away from the town square, and the weather was absolutely perfect today, so there was really no reason to drive.

“Wait for me.” After locking your front door, you caught up with him and happily laced your fingers with his. “So, I guess we're just going to wander around until we find something interesting to do then?”

The moment you touched his hand, his cheeks flushed. “Yeah. It's-a Saturday, so I'm-a sure there has to be something going on in town.”

“That's true, I guess. I didn't even think about that before to be honest.” Holding his hand a little tighter, you looked up at the awkward, almost uncomfortable way he was holding himself. “Now, let me ask you another question. Why are you still so serious around me? You didn't used to be so serious, and you know you're not fooling anyone by wearing that ridiculous look on your face. I know you're happy to be around me and so does everyone else. If you didn't want to be around me, you wouldn't sleep on my couch five out of seven nights of the week.

Still trying to play it off, he snorted and shook his head as if he had no idea what you were talking about. “What look?” Instead of verbally answering his question, you pulled down the corners of your mouth, placed your hands in your pockets and did your best to look as much like Romano as possible. Your impression of him made him even more awkward. “I don't-a look like that-a.”

“Yes actually, you do.” He might not like it very much, and you knew it would annoy him, but you were not about to let this subject go until he at least smiled for you. “You look like you've been sucking on a lemon. I can still tell that you're happy though, so you might as well give up and just admit it.”

“I'm-a not admitting anything.” He turned his face away from you and quietly cursed under his breath as the two of you approached the town square. There were dozens of peddlers lining the streets with their wide variety of goods, just like every Saturday. Hoping for an easy escape, Romano released your hand and tried to nudge you towards the little carts and stalls. “Look, we're here, so go have some fun or something okay?”

His attempt to get away from you failed, and did so rather miserably. Before he'd even had a chance to turn around, you grabbed his wrists tightly in your hands and began to lead him down the busy street. “Oh no, no, you're not going anywhere. You're coming with me, and we're going to have a good time whether you want to or not.”

“That-a actually sounds a little bit scary coming from you.” His frown deepened slightly as he shivered. “It sounds threatening. You-a didn't mean it as a threat, did you?”

“Yes, I did actually.” Truthfully you hadn't. But if him thinking you were making threats was going to make him loosen up, even a little bit, you didn't mind lying all that much. “If you don't have a good time out here with me, I will force feed you an entire bag of raw potatoes.”

“Y-you're-a not joking, are you?” Your threat caused another profane word to fly from his lips. “Fine-a, but you'd better not tell anyone.”

While you really didn't understand why he'd make such a request, you agreed. “Got it.” With another nod, you let go of his wrists and went back to holding his hand. You looked around the street and thought. There was a lot to do, but for some reason, nothing really interested you all that much. You'd tasted the different foods, sampled the different sweets and purchased at least one item from each of the little shops. As far as you could tell, this market was exactly the same this Saturday as it had been every Saturday before.

Romano instantly noticed your disappointment. “What's-a the matter? I can't-a have any fun if you're not happy you know.”

“I know, sorry about that.” You forced a fake smile on your face in the hope that it would soon be made real. “It's just that there's nothing new out here. Doing the same thing over and over gets boring after a while.”

“Is that all?” The fact that the reason for your disappointment was so easily solved brought a very slight smile to his face. It was so small, you couldn't actually be sure it was even there. “I'm-a sure there's something new around here. We just have to look for it.” Determined to keep you happy, Romano hastened his step. All the way at the far end of the street was a large, bright pink and baby blue stand. Neither of you had ever seen that particular stand before today, but the strong smell coming from it made it very obvious what it carried. “What about that? It-a look new to me. Should we maybe go check it out?”

“Of course we should.” Smiling once again, you excitedly drug him over to the stand and began to browse. Lining the many shelves, were dozens and dozens of different perfumes. While all the bottles were glass and looked beautiful, most of them were just cheap, overpriced knockoffs of the original. They didn't really smell all that great either. “Well, this is upsetting.”

“Yeah, it is a bit isn't it?” Romano did his best not to laugh as he handed you a dark purple bottle of perfume. “This-a one kind of smells like moldy pizza.”

Just as you were about to take a whiff, you lowered the bottle away from your nose and looked at him with a strangely blank expression. “Romano, why would you give me something that smells like moldy pizza? Why would I want to smell something like that?”

Romano rubbed the back of his head and awkwardly shrugged. “I don't-a really know the answer to that. Maybe just because it's funny?” Embarrassed by his own stupidity, he turned away from you and reached for a deep, red bottle shaped like a heart. He popped off the intricate lid and sniffed. As soon as the smell filled his nostrils, his eyes widened.

“It's that bad, huh?” Already convinced that this little stand was a complete waste of your time, you placed another container back on the shelf and sighed. “Maybe we should look somewhere else. We're both going to end up sick if we keep inhaling all these foul smells.”

“No, this-a one actually smells really good. Here, I'll-a show you.” Noticeably excited over his find, Romano began to spray the perfume all around you. It took a couple of seconds for the scent to over power the ones already there, but when it did, you couldn't get enough. This didn't just smell good, it smelled heavily. Never before could you remember smelling anything this intoxicating. It was comforting, and relaxing, yet invigorating at the same time. No matter how many times you breathed in the soft, cozy scent, it just wasn't enough. Glad you agreed Romano smirked. “I told you it smelled good.”

“Good? This stuff smells amazing. I'm going to buy every single bottle that they have here. Then I might go home and order even more of it online. What's it called?”

After pumping the nozzle a few more times, just to refresh the wonderful smell, Romano looked down at the container, then once again began to blush. He closed his eyes and answered quietly. “It's-a called love. I should have known.”

Taking this opportunity to embarrass him even more, you tightly wrapped your arms around his shoulders and in a cuddly, nuzzling way, kissed his cheek. “Well, what do you know, it's seems to me, that love is in the air.”
