“Okay ladies, now I know the last few players haven't exactly been all that much fun for you, but I'm absolutely sure that someone super fun is just around the corner. Keeping that in mind, who's ready to go next?” Hanabusa's short speech left the large group of girls cheering and squealing in unison. “That's exactly what I thought you'd all say.” He smiled wide, walked over to you and offered you his hand. “So without further ado, I shall chose you to be our next player. I bet you're pretty excited about this, aren't you?”

You happily accepted his outstretched hand and pulled yourself up to your feet. “Sure I am. It's about time I got a turn though. I was starting to worry that all of the good partners would be taken by the time I got to go.” As excited as you were, you couldn't bring yourself to be anywhere near as vocal about it as the other girls were. Actually, you were almost the complete opposite of the screaming, swooning group of girls behind you. You preferred to hold in your excitement until you exploded. As you dug around in the box for an item, your excitement began to mount. “I've got a little wooden cross. I'm really not sure which of you this might belong to though.”

“I didn't expect you would.” Yagari slowly walked towards you from a dark corner of the room with a rather unfriendly look on his face. Until this moment, you couldn't remember having even seen him before, at least not in person. He snatched the wooden cross from your hand, stuffed it in his coat pocket and signaled you to follow him. “Well, come on.”

“I'm coming. There's no reason for you to get all snippy with me.” A little disappointed to have someone not a part of the night class as your partner, took your time getting into the spare room. Once you were finally inside, you flopped down on the couch with a sour expression on your face. Instead of sitting down next to you, or even on the old, uncomfortable chair, Yagari stood by the door in silence. “What are you doing?”

Looking even more annoyed than before, he glanced at you for a split second, then quickly turned his attention back to whatever was going on outside of the door. “I'm listening, or at least I'm trying to. Now be quiet.”

“Do you realize how rude you're being? If you weren't going to participate, you shouldn't have put your item inside of the box. I'm not going to be quiet either. This is just as much my turn as it is yours.” Slumping down even further into the couch, you crossed your arms angrily and sharply exhaled from your nose. “What are you even doing here anyway? You're way too old to be a student.”

Yagari rubbed his forehead with his fingertips and let out a sigh. “I'm a teacher from the night class. I came here to keep an eye on my students.”

“Wait, so you're a teacher, but you're not going to turn us in for breaking the rules? That's actually pretty cool.” His explanation caused you to see things just a little differently than you had before. Pushing yourself away from the couch, you slowly made your way over to where he was standing. “So, since you're breaking the rules by being here, and not turning us in, I could pretty much do whatever I wanted in here and there would be no repercussions, right?”

“Wrong.” Finally turning to face you, Yagari gave you an incredibly stern look. “Me being here doesn't give you license to act like an idiot.”

“You know, you're being really condescending to me right now. I'm just trying to make this turn at least a little bit fun for me, and you're making it nearly impossible.” Since he'd been more than a little rude to you during the entire turn, you were no longer worried about upsetting him. For the last minute or so, you were going to do whatever you wanted, whether he liked it or not. Stepping even closer to him, you wrapped your arms around his broad shoulders and smiled wickedly.

Yagari's only reaction to you was his brow raising slightly. “Why are you looking at me like that? And why are your arms around me?”

“You'll see.” Pulling him even closer to your body, you stood onto your tiptoes and tightened your hold on him. If he wasn't so incredibly tall, you would have kissed him by now for sure. You tilted your chin up, and very, very slowly, you brought your lips closer and closer to his. Your heart began to race, and your palms started to sweat. Now less than an inch away from your kiss, Yagari jerked back, bringing everything to a halt.

“On second thought, I'm not sure I want to know what you had planned. Our seven minutes are up. I no longer need to be cordial with you.” Smirking down at you, Yagari gently pushed you away from him, opened the door and left you standing there as he began to dig around in his jacket pocket for a cigarette.

“Cordial? You weren't even nice to me in there. You hardly even spoke to me. And when you did, you told me to be quiet.” You stomped out of the room and shook your fist in the air. “You just wait and see what happens, I'm going to start so many terrible rumors about you, you'll come back to me on your hands and knees, begging for my forgiveness.”

Chuckling quietly, Yagari opened the large wooden double doors of the dorm and stepped outside into the bright moonlight. “Good, I look forward to it.”
