Occupation: Dolly runs a Mine-Cart shop in Dappleton, but with the decline in mining her talents haven't been in demand. As a back up she uses her craftsmanship to fabricate rustic furniture to make ends meet. She offers wooden coffee tables, chairs, stools, kitchen tables, shelving units and end tables.

Personality: Dolly is very blunt and has a tendency to catch ponies off guard when she opens her mouth. On the outside she looks very sweet, and she is! But she has a nasty habit of playing the "devil's advocate". When she hears a pony trying to make the best of a situation she will immediately get right to the reality of the situation whether the other pony wants to hear it or not.

What's the point in beating around the bush when you can accept it and move on to the next step?

Dolly is very pleasant in her own way; she greets everyone she runs into and is usually willing to help anypony with construction issues or mishaps without charge. That being said she doesn't let ponies take advantage of her. If her friends call on her for help fixing their shelving unit or changing a wheel on their cart, thinking they'll get a freebie, they're wrong, and still get charged in full. But what she makes in cash she pays ten fold in loyalty. Don't pick a fight with anyone she knows. She's small but, decently strong for her size. She's very stubborn, sarcastic and loves to pick, playfully, on ponies she knows.

One of her biggest downfalls is that when she starts a project she will to stick to it until she finishes it and often forgets to eat or sleep. This becomes a big problem when she has a busy work week, and can often be quite loopy by the end of it.

Likes: Talking to other artisans, sarcasm, bartering, pottery and trying her hooves at building new things.
Dislikes: Closed minded, overly loud, boisterous, arrogant and ignorant ponies. She's also not a huge fan of bitter cold or rain.
Hobbies: Since Dolly enjoys what she does in her line of work, she doesn't take much time for hobbies, but she loves to dabble in pottery and is currently trying to larn how to upholster her furniture goods.

History: Dolly grew up in a small mining community about a days travel from Dappleton. Her whole life she had been surrounded by miners and construction workers which definitely had quite the impression on her. Her father was the sole provider of rails for the mines and he worked tireless hours. Sometimes Dolly would stay up and watch him quietly from her little stool in the corner of his workshop.

As she grew older and more adventurous, her father would let her move closer and closer to his work area, eventually learning how to craft an array of many things. The one rule she absolutely had to follow was that she was never allowed in the shop alone; It was very dangerous and something could easily fall and crush her without supervision.

For years, as soon as he was out of eyesight, she would scramble to her room, lift up some loose floorboards, and pull out various tools and materials that she had squirreled away while her father was poring over his work. She had technically been supervised at the time, and wasn't breaking any rules. But these things can't last forever.

One night she had stayed up late working on a project, and had fallen asleep dropping her wrench on the floor. This woke her and her father (both being light sleepers). Of course he gave her a lecture about how she was still too young to be doing these things on her own. Her punishment was a week with no access to any tools, under the supervision of a foalsitter at all times (which was very embarrassing for a pony her age).

In the end her father was unable to ignore her talent and on the final day of her sentence, he came home bearing a heavy box, wrapped in colorful paper for her birthday. Inside was a brand new tool set and from that day on she had her own spot in the workshop.

When she turned 24 she decided it was finally time for her to leave the nest and make a life for herself. Having heard a lot about Dappleton's mines over the years, it was a natural selection for her line of work. So she packed up her things and set out.

What will she do when she finds out that the mines are no longer active... Time to make furniture instead I guess!
