Drawing for Keesha and Goliath for Valentine's Day made me realize this kid needed a new reference. His old one was 6 years ago. And it was super low res for some reason, which was no bueno for when I was working with it because it made the colors inconsistent.

I decided to give him one of his original outfits. Since the story I'm currently writing for him, chasing his dreams as a bug-type gym leader, will likely be the story that retires Goliath as a main character, I just felt like ending it the way it started was fitting. I want to make sure to give him the best send-off that I can.

And with this new reference, I've also added his locket, since I've chosen the Valentine's Day story to be the story he gets it. The phrase inside it that mirrors Lance and Rue is actually a reference to a story that directly followed Lance's funeral story. Unfortunately, that story was lost with my flash drive, but the inspiration to that story was this song:

I do still have the illustration, though, and plan on eventually redrawing it when I go to rewrite the story:
