sorry for the very, VERY late comment but i saw this on the "more from Vampirization" list when looking at your forged-in-hell glock and i just HAD to comment in this.
looks pretty good, and i love that reference to the "white death" guy. IIRC, the 500 kills were just with the mosin, if you count his kills with a suomi SMG it goes above 700. that the confirmed kills, some people think he killed more than 1000 soviets.
that guy was a real badass. i only imagine how he would be if, say, he was still alive and played FPS games.

Yeah, Simo was a goddamn badass. Sniping people without scope, never detected (well, except for that time when his jaw was blown to bits), a TRUE sniper.
And yeah, he would probably get kicked out of every FPS game he ever played XD

and the soviets snt entire squadrons/battalions looking for him. instead, he killed them.
they even tried to kill him with artillery. he survived.
and under sub-zero temperatures.
another interesting fact, he used to put snow in his mouth (hence the music part, "snow in his mouth") to prevent enemies from spotting his breathe. holy shit, think about a freaking badass.
i can only imagine him playing on BF3 on a DICE-hosted server, where people can't ban you njust because they're angry.

Yes, the snow in mouth method is just ingenious! I used to do that trick whilst having snowball fights with my friends as a child. It didn't work well though, as I wore all black clothes and was easily spotted anyway. XD

the dark clothes thing is one of the reasons the nazis got their as*es kicked by the soviets BTW. they relied on blietzkrieg tactics and though it was going to be quick, so they didn't even bring winter clothes. as they wore dark suits, they were literally walking targets in the snow, while the soviets were camouflaged and warm (relatively) with their fur clothing.
BTW i finished the story of my fictional country in NationStates, and it's first service rifle is going to be based on the Mosin. it might take a while though, as i'm on an exam week now.

You'll have to forgive me if I'm wrong. Didn't the Mosin-Nagant kick like an angry mule? would making a carbine version like this do anything to cut down on that or is this designed to make it a little easier to carry and cut down on weight?

I have to admit I don't know much about Mosins. And I wanted to make the rifle slightly longer, but as I am limited to the weapon parts in PMG, it was hard. Furthermore, I based it on the special Finnish version used by Finnish sniper Simo Hรคyhรค a.k.a. White Death, who killed around 500 soviet soldiers, most of them sniped with an open iron sight Mosin-Nagant.
