This is a screencap i did of Briarlight (even though it was Briarpaw at the time).
*****SPOILERS AHEAD*****
This is when Briarpaw(light) discovers that she will never walk again due to the tree falling on her, breaking her back
Jayfeather had gone to Littlecloud to ask what to do (Littlecloud had an injury just like Briarpaw's), and Littlecloud said she might die.I was SO sad when i read this, cause i REALLY like her. I wish it had been Blossompaw instead (i dont like her that much lol).
I SWEAR IF THEY KILL HER I WILL BE SO SAD. She's soooo nice! and optimistic! anyways...

yeah Blossomfall was a jerk to Ivypool too, remember when she was an apprentice they were put on a patrol together and she said: " I wanna go with Dovepaw she is such a better hunter!" or somthing similar to that. I hope Briarlight does not die!! If the Erins kill her i will be like the emocon at the end of the comment

i totally agree with yuor discription! it shud have been Blossomfall... shes always so bossy! and Briarlight didnt deserve her accident... she worked hard for her warrior name and her optimism shud coun for something! ill be mad if they kill her, too

she wanted to help Longtail, who wanted to catch the mouse for Mousefur. her heart was in the right place, even if she shouldnt have gone in.

It was a stupid mouse! If shes so stupid that she thinks she can just stroll in a camp with a tree falling in it then she should have died a long painfull death for here stupidity!

it was reckless to go and chase the mouse, but I think it was more about helping Longtail, who also went i to catch it for her, and I think Mousefur was worrying about freshkil for the Clan, not tht a tree was about to fall on them. she was elderly, afer all...

Yeah but Mousefur was really old. She's one of the few cats that lived from the first book til the last and was already a warrior when the first book started. She shouldn't have worried about fresh-kill for the Clan when their camp was in danger... but I guess any cat would worry about a mouse right there in plain sight, its easy fresh-kill.

I agree thats sad and I feel bad for her in that way, but I don't really like blossomfall much partly because she trains in the dark forrest, knows it's a bad thing, and doesn't seem to ashamed of it.

i agree with you, after brairlight turned stupid and ran into camp when a tree was falling in it,millie only cared about her crippled kit and paid no attention to blossomfall or bumblestripe.To blossomfall,the darkforest actually cared and noticed her,her personality is caused by millie and brairlight so go blame them for a change

I think it would be interesting if Briar becomes Jay's apprentice? Do you think Erin had that idea in mind when she made the tree fall on her too cripple her so she could become a meddie cat app maybe idk just pondering the possibilities hey I could make a fanfic about that Briarlight the Medicine cat!

ShadowUkelover, i think youre right... i didnt consider that before.... but doesnt it seem like too many cats whove been crippled have become medicine cats when they were training as apprentices? i mean, Cinderpelt... and Mothwing, but i have no idea why she became a medicine cat...and Jayfeather is blind. wudnt that start getting old?

Mothwing chose to be a medicine cat, Briarlight could become a medicine cat, but there's a few problems: 1. briarlight can't walk at all, so she can't go to the moonpool without help, so -hypothetically- when Jayfeather finally does die or retire, she would be able to go. 2. She also can't go around the forrest picking herbs without help as well and if she didn't have help but could still drag herself around the forrest, It would be extremely dangerous because she can't defend herself against foxes or badgers or even run away- even Cinderpelt could defend her self a bit or limp away or even get to a low hanging brach of a tree- she'd be a sitting duck for preditors, 3. though she can get around pretty well, she can't rush around camp grabbing herbs and getting back to a lot of patients and fast like after a battle or something 4. She can't get to gatherings even with help, It's just to far for her
and 5. if there was an epidemic of a deadly virus such as green cough, she could catch it far easier because she has to do several exersizes everyday just to make sure she doesn't catch it anyways
I'm not trying to down the idea, but it would be very hard for her.

Actually it wasn't Littlecloud who had the injury, it was Wildlegs or something of the sort. But I think maybe Jayfeather has found himself an apprentice. I WOULD say that if Firestar hadn't given Briarlight her Warrior name, yet, though. So, maybe not. Wonderful drawing, though. I love the shading and expression on her face. She looks so hurt and her eyes are a bit glazed. Beautiful work. :3
