Description Jamie and Pati-Yana sneak up on a dragon so Jamie can slay it and save the village!

An illustration I was asked to do for the Doctor Who "Myth Makers" fanzine. Hopefully this is an acceptable piece for them. The stark lighting was tricky but fun. XD

Originally I had drawn the dragon to their right, but it was looking silly and taking too long. In the end, I decided just focusing on these two was suffice. XD

Nice work.
Love the sharp and starkness of Jamie's knife and the detail of his boots.

Nice job with that wicked-cool lighting (though the back of Jamie's left leg is glitchy ).

The fuzzyness of the noise is very nice, I'd never have thought of that! If you don't mind some concrit some of the lineart is a little harsh and pixely (did you draw this in PSP?).

I don't mind critique, although I've already submitted it to the publication, so it's going to be printed as-is. I know it's got some issues but I was content enough with it when I finished. I'm not sure what you mean by the "fuzziness of the noise" ... Jamie's left leg has a bit of light on it, is that the glitch you're reffering to?

As for the lineart, yeah, I did it all on PSP and I didn't spend much time smoothing out the lineart or anything. Some of the highlights are especially ... pixely. Ah well. I'm sure it'll print smoothly. XDXDXD Like I said, it could use a LOT of work (Pati-Yana's hand bothers the FUCK out of me, as does the lantern itself), but it's "good enough" I guess, ahahahha.

A strip of white on the back of his left leg? I could be being stupid and it's supposed to be there .

'fuzziness of the noise' = the way things look to me in the dark, fuzzy and grainy.

I wouldn't say it needs a lot of work. I mean sure, you could do more, but then again you always can and what you've got works perfectly well (and effectivly!) as you've painted it.

Yes, that line was left there intentionally. I suppose it does look a bit silly, but I liked the way it defined his calf, hahahahaha. Oh well. It doesn't make a lot of sense to be sure.

It's nice to know that I could improve it, but that I'm okay with it where it is too. I like to see room for improvement, but I also like to know that I don't have to ALWAYS fuck with pictures until they're perfect, so to speak. (Nevermind that Two/Jamie console one that is never going to get finished hahaaha sob.)

Ooooh Jamie looks as sexy as ever! This is great... I adore the harsh lighting. It sets an ominous mood that's just wonderful for dragon hunting!

Heeee, thank you! I'm a bit sad I didn't spend more time on it, 'cause there are things I'd like to tweak, but enough is enough. I think any details will be swallowed dead on the print anyway.

I love the picture but I'm torn between rooting for Jamie (who is a brilliant DW companion) and the dragon (I love dragons...)

:-/

To be fair, the dragon eats the girl in the next few minutes, and has been stealing and eating village children for generations, and is sick and disgusting and fat. (And might even be human; the story doesn't make it clear.) So. It's not a nice dragon.
