Description Reupload of my Zuko cosplay

I wound up giving this cosplay to ~Bramarb cause, well, it fit him better XD I really want to remake this costume and cosplay Zuko again because he was definitely my favourite Avatar character.

Myself as Zuko from Avatar
Costume done by
Scar done by me with *jj-dreamworldz 's help

Costume Information:
Scar was made with special effects putty and then I used coloured powder to give it the two different shades of red.

No prob if you don't! I have other methods I can use!

whooa ... what did you use for scar? face-paint? sry people prolly already asked you about that... can't be bothered to go thru all the comments

I used a special FX putty to make the texture of the scar and to cover my eyebrow. Then I used two shades of makeup to give it the two-toned appearance

Okay, THIS is how they should of made Zuko look in the Last Airbender movie... they didn't even make his scar VISIBLE for cryin' out loud! You did a great job of recreating him

VandorWolf In reply to anonymous771 [2011-09-19 18:22:03 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I agree that the scar should have been more visible, but there was a lot in that movie that I didn't like

I have not watched it yet because I was told (or rather commanded) not to support the movie with my money But judging from the movie shots I have seen so far, I totally agree with you

anonymous771 In reply to Aquarior [2011-02-09 23:30:09 +0000 UTC]

Well it was probably better you didn't see it, it was total crap. They didn't slow down enough for anyone to get into the story, and they hardly did any bending, not to mention they totally screwed with the story line, the names were pronounced wrong, and... anyways, you get the idea, I'll shut up now lol

Aquarior In reply to anonymous771 [2011-02-10 00:32:31 +0000 UTC]

*smirk* That sounds totally awful But I have to say, movie critics do not predict my own opinion too well. When it comes to a film adaptations, people tend to use criteria which I do not share. While I appreciate convincing similarities to the book or series, they are not necessary for me. A movie is an artwork of its own, and therefore it has the freedom of interpretation

For example, the novel "The Bicentennial Man" stays incredibly close to the short story. The film in contrast is vastly different, even in the plot! Yet it manages to catch the very soul of the story, which is why I consider it a succesful adaptation On the other side I can be nitpicking enough to be displeased even with minor mistakes in "Harry Potter" (like McGonagall not wearing squared glasses), because the movie crew actually seemed to have the standard to include the details of the book. However, not every adaptation tries to achieve this goal.

Regarding "Last Airbender", the critic that contributed most to prevent me from going into the theatres was that it does not contain an ounce of the humour of the series. And the humour is its very heart of the series, in my opinion! But I perfectly understand how seemingly nonsensical changes frustrate, and I fail to see the sense in pronouncing the names differently or saving on bending. I wonder how much the original creators were involved in the filmmaking?

You better show this pic to the guys who made the movie. lol

Thank you so much! I apologize for such a late reply!

The scar was made out of a special effects latex putty. It took me about an hour to put it on my skin in a way that satisfied me. Then I used two different types of eyeshadows to colour it in so it was reddish-brown. Some of the putty actually fell off around my eye area because of my blinking, but it wasn't too noticeable
