This is one of those ideas that you just need to get out of your head. Its my own rendition of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I dont think half human half fish would be equipped to stay alive long in the depths, so I adjusted her a little so she could.Done in Sai, touch ups and textures PS

Does well for a reverse the characters AU. Where Ursula (in her human form Veronica?) just wants Prince Erikal of Atlantica to love her, so she goes to the creepy sea-witch Arsula with an octopus for a head (instead of octopus for a body) & trades her voice for finsΒ

Actually, humans are the only land mammal to have a layer of insulating fat, the ability to hold our breath at will, and partial webbing in between our fingers, all hinting that we spent part of our evolution in the water were food was abundant. Even an infant can instinctually holds its breath and swim. If you look at Korean and Japanese deep sea divers, they can dive and hold their breath for up to to twenty minutes and thoughs who condition their bodies can stay in the stay in freezing water for as long as they want.
