One time, I decided to do a Death Ring run of the first dungeon in the game...only to die to a bat that just snuck up on me right at the beginning. Seriously, what the heck?!
I admit, though, that was entirely my fault for not being observant enough. It's still fun to challenge myself with this game, since I didn't find OoE as hard as most others did. (even crazier: This is my first Castlevania game, and yet I only struggled with the Ruvas Forest (I think it's safe to say that everyone struggled with that dungeon), the bonus dungeons, and some of the bosses. I'm not sure if it's because I'm good at this game, or if I'm just really, really, really lucky)
