I have had the chance to watch some of the original Astro Boy recently and I have become pretty interested in it. It is far more complex than any other animation in the 60's and many years to come. I understand very well how it is one of the main progenitors of anime as we know it.I based this off an old Lenin propaganda poster. They were both beginnings of revolutions and their spirit is alive today. Mostly, this is meant as comedy, but I also wanted to do a tribute to Astro Boy. Notice the carefully-drawn Tokyo Tower in the background. I may do a second colour version that would be more basic colours, aimed more to capture the style of more classic Soviet propaganda.
The Lenin propaganda poster reads "Lenin Lived, Lenin Lives, Lenin Will Live!" and was used during Stalin's time to try and equate himself to the more popular, competent, and righteous Lenin. This phrase can also have a serious(ish) message about Astro Boy and his role as one of the first anime series.
This will be my only submission to Nan Desu Kan 2007's art show, and that is the main reason I am posting it here...protecting it.

I am alright, still kind of at odds with DeviantArt, but I put this up largely to secure a "copyright" of sorts.
Also, I think this is one of the best pieces I have ever done, and that some people would appriciate it.
