still a few clicks from finished, and as yet unlettered, but here's a color sample from the up-n'-comin' anthology piece. i'm not 100% satisfied with it, really, but...meh. yeah here it is.Related content

i'd like to see darker outlines on areas of the foreground figures to reinforce depth perception (the raised staff intersecting the dude's hair, for instance, and the chick's hands), and the texture on the columns distracts a little for me.. but that's pretty minor stuff, and CHEE-RIST man! that's a hell of a page. cheers to it, and to their ensuing battle with... that's supposed to be Margaret Thatcher, right?

yeah i think i lightened some spots that needed to be darker, and vice versa....
i'm really not sure about that texture on the columns either, to be honest. it kinda works, and kinda doesn't. i think in the end i'll opt for something a little more crude and less contrasting.

they were originally going to do battle with Janet Reno, but the similarity was too striking. so i decided to go with a fairly conservative interpretation of Margaret Thatcher.

i often wonder why Cloud (or Sephiroth, for that matter) hasn't crept into more of my stuff.
i mean, my LIFE kinda stopped when FFVII came out....

if someone were to ask me specifically what was so cool about FFVII, i'd be at a loss for words. it's a prime example of a cohesive whole being a triumph over its component parts, i guess. i loved the game but didn't love a single thing

I'm really impressed with the character design of the guy. He armor, the outfit, the colors, they are all awesome. He can see he has attitude just in that one pose.

i think a LOT of my influences for body armor and stuff come from FF designs....an iron grip on my brain that's hard to shake

my time with ragnarok was short-lived, but MAN there was some insanely good character design there.
i really envy the kids of the future, you know? this is a very exciting time to be in love with video games, their design, and the sheer potential, but by the time i'm old and gray and weird i'm sure i'll be flush with jealousy to see what kind of art and technology games of the times will have in store....
