Have I mentioned recently how much I love these two characters? They are the best.

So here are some (lazy) doodles of their continuing adventures, in no great order. The thing is, there is no background on Dr. S, so I have had to resort to making it up. It is not very interesting background, but I have added to my notes:

From the left, then, Dr. S is not impressed by Loki's sartorial elegance. Fan girls the world over are, however, so never mind.

Then we have anachronisms ahoy with hair gel. On Asgard Loki probably used goose fat to slick it back. Lovely. Oh well, I'm sure the good Doctor can find him some boot polish, or something.
(On a related note, I see that Loki does appear to have longer hair in the Avengers trailer- however, the quality was so low on the one I saw that it could, frankly, have been anyone. It could have been Russell Brand. Roll on Friday and a higher quality version!)

A little paint sketch of Dr. S, trying out some more digital based stuff. The slogan on the mug is actually from something in partical physics*, not astrophysics (which is what we assume Selvig is a Doctor of)- but you see, where is comes from is this private joke that was started in one of the seminar groups he taught in a lecturing post he had. At the end of the year, the students clubbed together and got him that mug. He was fairly embarrassed by it, but also rather touched, and has taken it with him to all subsequent lecturing posts and government research labs since.
There. Backstory. See, told you it wasn't that great.

And finally, more backstory, as I have decided that the only thing Dr. S loves is science. So you do not talk nasty about science near him, oh no. Loki, on the other hand, thinks science is highly unlikely, and isn't convinced. (He was brought up to believe the Universe is made out of dead giants, after all.) Oh dear. There will be fireworks.

I really want to do a whole series of these, and probably will. The most challenging thing is going to be thinking up witty stuff about astrophysics, since the last time I set foot in a physics lab was for GCSE's.
