Description Yeah well I hope it was not that aurora that inspired you Dr.S because that aurora looks like it were drawn by someone with their head in a bucket.

This is not the page I intended to draw. I don't actually know what I intended to do, this just grew for some reason. Actually, I like it. I feel a bit bad for giving Dr. S no other back story than 'lulz, cupboard', although maybe this is a bit naff. Anyway, Loki it is not all about you so there.

Interesting fact of the day- that whole thing about what the Norsemen thought the aurora was? Not in any of the original sources, in fact it seems to have sprung up from Bullfinch's Mythology circa 1850 or so- it doesn't look like the Vikings really had much truck with the aurora. Rainbows, yes, but not auroras. If you watched that program about the Earth's orbit on Sunday, you would have heard them mention this, but they were wrong. Sort of.
Anyway, even if the Vikings didn't believe it, Loki knows it, providing a neat little loophole.
I have been bad with sources, but I really need to mention this site, because it is pretty much awesome, it is The Viking Answer Lady, she is a Lady who Answers questions about Vikings ( [link] ) and pretty much gives me everything I need and everyone should know about it.

"That was both coherent and enlightening." Because of my extensive vocabulary, I love and appreciate this line, and use it whenever possible in context. I love big words.

Yeah, me too- I sometimes think I write Loki by throwing big words at the screen and seeing what sticks

And while mommy and daddy are having their drink and bikering discussing science, the children are rocking at the lab! Plant, just keep the volume down. I don't think SHIELD needs to know why Stayin' Alive is on full base down there when all the equipment is busted.

... I regret nothing.

This is possibly the best comment I could come in to find on a Monday morning.

Oh Loki, you lack magic in the most important part: your heart. Why couldn't you just let Dr. S dream..?

VanHinck In reply to WTFWonder [2012-03-16 14:03:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for that. Because now I have a thing in my head, and it goes like this:
'Once upon a time there was a Frost Giant. He was quite small for a Frost Giant, in fact, he was the littlest Frost Giant ever.
The littlest Frost Giant was also a MAGIC Frost Giant- he had magic in the strands of his hair, and in the tips of his fingers, all the way down to the ends of his tiny blue toes. But he did not have any magic in one place- he had no magic in his HEART.'

And then he would go on an adventure and learn the true meaning of Christmas or something, and it would be unbearably sappy and I want to write it now.

WTFWonder In reply to VanHinck [2012-03-16 14:45:08 +0000 UTC]

That would be the best fairytale ever and you should absolutely write it except then Hollywood would grab it and turn it into some horrible mess where he has a motorcycle and a sexy girlfriend made of ice and he goes around shooting things with his chilly magical shotgun.

...

Which actually doesn't sound too horrible now that I think of it.

Well you might think that but Ghost Rider was awful.

*Johnny Blaze. I'm duly ashamed.

Because his girlfriend wasn't made of ice. And Nicholas Cage is not Johnny Cage. And that was not Mephisto and arg arg arg LOATHING.

I apologize. I went to a dark place. Pardon me while I enslave this mortal world to make me feel better.

There was an Aurora a few weeks ago that actually reached south enough for me to see it. Of course I woke up, turned off my alarm and accidentally went back to sleep. Which sucks because that would have been the first/only time my mom and I could see it with out traveling.

Oh, that's a shame...
The news was saying there were auroras visible in Scotland, but I've not seen any... D:

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Loki says "Actually, I meant YOU", while looking at the peanut?

Awesome job once again Van! I love the artistry. The way you draw Loki is just too perfect. I may have to ask for a commission from you (if you do them).

And the never-ending witty and intelligent dialogue between the two just makes this fan comic a whole lot better. I've always loved fan comics with a sharp wit to them. And I always wonder how you can manage to keep coming up with so many good panels. But I'm not complaining. This is my favorite fan comic after all.

Yes, Loki has now given up on the Dr. and is basing all is hopes on salted bar snacks.

Thank you! I don't really do commissions, but hey, if you have a particular request, I just like drawing stuff!
Thinking up new panels is always a pain- I draw lots of roughs

Glad you're enjoying it!

I knew it! Well...I guess Loki has joined the peanut gallery. XD

Aww that's too bad! I really wanted an original hand-drawn sketch of the Loki that you draw. >x< (He's just so awesome!)

I bet! But you really seem to get astronomy/astrophysics aspect of it. And it's one of my favorite subjects (I could write a whole book on the things I've learned by just taking classes and reading texts).

I'll let you know if any ideas for a panel come to mind so that you can use them. At least in this way I can be helpful.

I love this! They're interaction is just getting better and better. I'm looking forward to when Dr. S finally gets through to Loki. It's going to be awesome! I also adore the idea of the aurora being caused by the Valkyries, even if it isn't really true.

(I use the Viking Answer Lady for all the research I'm doing for my fic! It's a really useful website!)

Thank you!
I liked the aurora thing too- although I do wonder why the Vikings ignored it in their myths...

Yeah- it's so very detailed. I used to just type stuff into Google, and half the time I was ending up there anyway, so it's clearly the place to be.

Epic page. I love how Loki snap at the Doctor (and the bickering. LIke an old married couple.) Also lovin' the art here - it's showing that you've gotten used to drawing Dr.S and the God of Mischief

Thanks! I did enjoy this one...
Yes, no doubt they have long arguments in the evening about Scrabble. (which would be awful to play with Loki, thinking about it. He'd change all the tiles into runes...)
