Description
The Reimu and Sanae series in relation to the Mario and Luigi series was an idea I had with DjtheS in regards to a series of remixes. He thought it'd be cool to remix a song from each Mario and Luigi game with a Touhou song he felt fit. The results were three successful remixes that came out pretty well. I made a sprite image for each of those songs to make the experience of the remix more genuine...if that makes any sense? It was a fun time that's for sure.

Then came along Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, and it was then we had plans on making a remix for that game. Priorities in our work made working on that project difficult so we left it dormant for quite some time. It was then an opportunity arose and we took action. For this image I tried to make a scenario where it'd mimic the whole "dream" setting the game had, and I feel it worked well. The background and the overall setting of this image was made by KawaiiWolfOphi, which gave me this setting as a gift a while back. I thought it worked with what I wanted to do so I used it here. I tried my best to make an original sprite of Remilia in an Antasma look...it came out decent. Not the best, but not the worst either. I had the most fun making a Sanae "Sister Attack" because...I had to look through my Sanae sprites I had and find the best ones that fit this the most. It was entertaining to say the least.
