Description This Bay is on the Southern most side of the island where I live. It used to be a thriving tourist area but they built a new ferry terminal at one of the more northern bays. Since then this bay has become very quiet, although the pub still serves a good meal

Hi . How great to meet another Deviant from our little Island. I love your artwork. It's very vibrant and energetic I haven't used natural media for years now. I used to use oils.

On which island do you live? Β It looks spectacular this time of year!

Thank you. It is spectacular at this time of year - anytime of year really - it just gets too hot in the summertime sometimes This is our winter. It's called Magnetic Island.

You're welcome! Β I didn't know there was such an island, so I did some research and found that it had a population of only 2,106 back in 2006. Β I hope it's grown since then!

No, it hasn't. The population is pretty much the same and we love it that way. We get a lot of tourists here, especially in winter. We are only a 25min ferry ride to the city.

Yes a nice view with your meal. Lovely in winter time - now. Temperatures around 25 - 27 through the day. YouΒ may have similar temperatures in winter in Texas ? Well, if you ever make it, make sure you let me know and we'll come and shout you a beer/wine/vodka/juice - whatever LOL

Thank you .
yes, I agree about the tourists but don't think the locals there are complaining - unless they have a business of course. People still go there for a meal and a swim, as there is one of a couple of swimming enclosures/nets put up in the summer months. This is a precaution against box jelly fish and the deadly irukandgi jelly fishΒ www.irukandjijellyfish.com

Wow!Β  Wicked little beast, isn't it??Β  That would make you think twice before dipping your toes in the water!!!

Yes. Not nice! It's just the summer months and that's why they put the nets up - to keep them out. The nets and surrounds are patrolled by lifeguards, and they drag the nets a couple of times a day, just to be on the safe side. If you choose to swim outside the netsΒ in the summer monthsΒ  - say to go snorkeling, you wear a "stinger suit". Very light weight material, looks like a divers outfit. The tentacles can't penetrate that.
