"Lurking somewhere in the darkness, not clearly to be seen, waiting, contemplating, anticipating the right moment to do his move. You can only wait, stand there, endure for the moment to pass by, hoping that you will get away. You cannot see his intention, and it's as unclear to you, as your mind might be to him. But maybe he has already scanned your very thoughts? You'll find out soon. "

I wanted to convey a mysterious mood in this painting. My original intentions may be as unclear to me know, as the thoughts in the dragon's gaze are to you. I've been fascinated by various dimly lit chiaroscuro paintings of the 16th century, and tried to loose some edges and shape in this dim painting. It was a fun learning, too, and I still have a hard time doing these distinct dark colours. I hope it comes out in the JPG.

It is also one of those paintings sitting on my HDD for ages. 80% of this was actualy done in may 2022.... its been 2 years, but I felt it would be sad to never have it published. So I gave it some finishing touches today. Its been a year, too, since I've posted something. Got a whole pile of unfinished work that I am sitting on. I often feel like its not ready yet, but the longer I wait, the less I kindoff feel it does represent my current skill. So whatever lets see when the drawings of today will be published... hopefully earlier than 2 years from now. I kindoff was busy with different things, still continued drawing, but not feeling like posting a lot, but maybe I get back into the swing.
