A personal piece I've been wanting to do for a really long time now. This whole "big cat but colored unusually" trend is something I really dig, so I'm happy I finally got around to joining in on that.I initially wanted to do neon/glowing stripes, but changed my mind halfway through, partly because I wanted to practice my metal rendering skills. It was kinda fun drawing detailed fur again, I feel like I successfully used some of the knowledge I gained from my leopard photo study I did some weeks ago.

Sorry for not commenting earlier. What I'm most impressed by is how quickly and naturally you managed to grasp the idea of golden reflective materials insofar as you managed to make it seem realistic and natural! It's not easy to figure out such things as well in such a short time
The head looks absolutely gorgeous and I think it's the strongest point of the drawing! You really know your big cats and it shows how much care and attention to detail you lend for cats. It brings me to my only critique really which is that it feels like the head is a bit too detailed in relation to the rest of the body. In my opinion you should have textured the body at least almost as well as the head, just to make it feel more cohesive and not as rushed. That being said the body still looks absolutely gorgeous as it is, and sometimes doing just enough is totally fine :3.
I also love the colour scheme. Gold and black feel so regal and majestic which fits tiger so nicely. The idea of having the stripes be golden was a fantastic one and the contrast in texture, hue, value and saturation is massive but it works so well!

Wow, this came out fantastically! Metallic gold is an absolute joy to paint and I think black and gold has to be up there with my favourite colour combinations
I really love the realistic detail around the face and especially the eyes and mouth. The gleams on the black skin really gives a great sense of wetness and 3-dimesionality. The mystical feeling background also complements the subject perfectly too!
The gold looks glorious in the coat there, but as I've stared at this, I'm a little confused what it is. Is the fur itself gold and metallic or is that gaps through to the skin? I feel as though if it were gold fur perhaps it should still have a bit of fur-grain texture in there somehow? If it were skin, then I'd envisage the fur to overhang the skin a bit, shadowing it on the upward side perhaps?
Anyhow, this worked out really cool now that it's done and congrats on the front-page publicity!

The golden strips, hmm... Let's just say they're something between fur and skin :^)Β
But no, in all honesty, the stripes looking the way they do is just because I wanted to save time while drawing this, nothing more. I could have made them look like fur or skin, but I didn't want to spend too much time on the drawing and get lost in (maybe) unnecessary details. It apparently still worked out in the end, as we can see haha

This is beautiful! It really looks like the stripes are made of gold. The detail of the front leg gets a little muddy, but the texture of the fur is nice. The face is so detailed! I love it

This is the first time that one my pieces has gotten this sort of response here on Deviantart, so I'm really happy about that, but also slightly anxious about how I'll perform in the future, and whether I'll meet my own expectations.
Still though, I'm positively surprised by this whole thing, even if I sometimes have doubts about how Deviantart seemingly randomly decides to promote artworks on its front page :^)

Very nice golden touches! Both flow and texture work nice together and the focal point with a lot of detail is established awesomely! And the simple background with particle effects has a real exquisite feeling to it too!
Β Only the golden stripes look flat and could have used some furry texture in my opinion.
